you called me a burger flipper. Degrading me and my profession.

btw, I don't flip burgers. I normally man the frosty the machine when I am not overseeing our quality operations.

I disagree, either give the money or don't. But don't loan it.

Depending on the amount, the gift may be taxable to the giver...i.e., gift tax.

I had that problem when I bought a condo for my daughter.

$10k is under the gift tax threshold.

And you started a thread on the O-T asking if "burger flipper" is a put down and the vast majority responded "no, it's a job description."

And I responded that being a burger flipper is an honorable profession.

On the other hand, being a frosty maker.......

Well, I made the offer as a gift, he talked it over with his wife and his response:

a. They were very grateful and accept the gift.

b. Could I please delay the gift for a month or two. They are both scheduled for a lot of overtime work in the near future and would like to wait for a time when they can really research cars and visit lots of places.

I thought that was a very responsible position for him to take. I assured him the check would be there when he's ready for it.

you want to adopt me? I could use $10k.

I won't visit though. NWLA is a shithole.

Don't need any more kids but here's what I'll do. The next time a Nigerian wants to give me a million dollars I'll forward his email to you.

I have always thought that the whole "keep it even" thing is ridiculous. It's your money. Do what you want with it. If your kids gets their panties in a wad, they need to grow up.
