Or some hybrid of it that allows those with money to still have access to high quality care. It's been pretty obvious for awhile. Corporate medicine will dictate who gets what.

Similar to the Two-tier healthcare system? I feel like it has to head that way. Government provides basic level of care for all. Second tier is for people who can pay for better services with faster access. Some countries have some of this already in play.

I’m in for 760 shares currently. Buying 100 more if it drops to $6. I started buying this in 2020 but stopped as the price exploded. Been adding as it declined. If you believe that private medicine will always make money and pay the rent, this is a great stock. I like that it’s managed out of Birmingham too and not NY or CA.

Richard Scrushy's HealthSouth was based out of Birmingham. I'm thinking it dropped below .10 cents. Bought some while on a road trip with limited info. Sold way too soon. But, for most, it was a very big loss.

I'll probably sell 1/2 in december for taxes, and then maybe the rest the following year.

1600+ here. Started in 2013. Bought more lots/reinvested dividends. Cost basis 23k. Current value 12k.

Sometimes the stock market sucks.

Any of y’all in MPW —-I’ve seen a good bit of research floating around the hedge funds and research firms … this one looks BAD.

Don’t be married to it if it’s been good to you, be willing to sell out and move on. It could end up being a victim of the cycle.

No dog in this hunt … y’all be careful

Hedge Eye had a lot to say about being short on this stock the other day. Dude said this stock is literally a 0 and at no price should you buy this.

Down to 5 bucks today. Can someone talk me into not selling this dumpster fire?

My cost basis is 20k. I'm getting my arse handed to me.

I'm down well over 50% at this point. Is this going to zero? I'd like to think this is a bump in the road, that MPW is an ongoing concern, etc...

Medical Properties Trust, Inc. (NYSE:MPW)
quote:
Wrong. Clinics are struggling. Hospitals are struggling. We haven't had a increase in re-imbursement in about 16-17 years. We've lost 30% or more to inflation in the last 20. As pay increases in other sectors, medicine has been frozen in time for almost two decades. People have no clue how bad the situation is and is going to be without some drastic change.

From someone that owns two very successful businesses in the medical field, I can assure you that medical is no longer recession proof. At least at the provider level that would be renting these spaces. It's going to be hard to keep the facilities filled and be able to raise rents/leases if there is no profit. Just something to think about.

Most of my medical experience was on the video side producing CME's, patient ed, mode of actions and promos mostly financed by big pharma along with some patent disputes and liability cases. It was pretty much recession proof, but not Washington proof. In those terms, the problems might stem from the same place.

Getting worse by the day. Glad I own mine. Can't go up on rent to partner though as he can barely cover bills. I'd hate to be dependent on medical commercial property. shite is about to get real bad if we don't get a substantial pay increase.

I'd say your chances of it going to zero in this environment is greater than it going back to 10 @share.

I went ARE instead because you need office space for bsl. You cannot conduct research in biomed without BSLs. I do not think it will be affected by the coming real estate bubble as much as other REITs.
