LSUS does not have an oncampus MBA program. Employers will assume an MBA from LSUS is an online MBA by default. Does this not worry anyone? Is LSUS considering opening an oncampus MBA program soon?

Could someone help convince me to do the LSUS program instead of the ULL program?

(ULL has both oncampus and online MBA programs, the degrees are the same, and the price for their online MBA is under $13k)

For the last 1.5 years almost all MBA programs (and many of the offices of those employers) have been online. Any stigma that existed about online classes that existed (and I don't think that stigma has been widespread since many many years ago) is gone.

The stigma tended to me more related to the quality of the online schools that existed compared to "standard" B&M college. That still exists to some extent. LSUS is won't have the same cache as a MBA from a top tier school, because, lets be honest, it isn't a top tier school... not because it is an online school.

Do you think any employer will looks down on a candidate that earned a MBA from Harvard over the last year and a half because they had to do so online? I don't.

I’ve seen mixed reviews on Kungu. Would you recommend him over Wyatt and McLaughin?

I’ve read that it’s pretty much self taught but I’d appreciate any suggestions to make at least a B in the course.

Unless you live near Lafyette, LA, wouldn't the employer know anyways? I mean lets say on your resume you live/work in California the same time you were doing your ULL MBA. Employer would know you did the "online" version, no??

Thanks in advance!

I'm excited for this session to start, because it will be my last. I have completed 9 classes and this will be my tenth and final. It will have taken me about one year to complete it

Overall, I am please with the program. It is exactly what I expected when I signed up for the program. For the price, it was great!

I just wanted to give a big thank you for everyone that has contributed to this thread. The information in it was instrumental for me deciding to enroll at LSUS and also in deciding which classes/professors to take.

Could you give the teachers you took and how you like them?

I'm currently on 3/10 and looking for my fall classes. Currently looking to take Heller for Org Behavior andWyatt for Org Strat and Policies. I've taken:

MKT- Koksal, EZ.
ISDS- Sadhya, EZ, but a lot of work.
FIN- Kim, super EZ.

Online degrees from both the main Baton Rouge campus and the Shreveport campus are now being marketed together on the main LSU website.

Opinions?

What does it matter? They are still separate programs.

What's everyone taking in Fall AP2? I've got Organizational Strategy scheduled. Just finished Accounting. Not liking the new course designations. Makes it confusing.

I got my MBA from LSUS back in 2015 and have moved jobs twice since then. One required an MBA and no one looked at it and said "this is an online degree, so it doesn't count." Hell, most people assume that LSUS is just a satellite campus of LSU and that there is no distinction.

Also, as others have said, we live in the post COVID world. There is no longer a stigma to online programs, as most workers entering the workforce in the next few years will have online degrees.

LSU may be looking to form a Regent in the upcoming years.

I'm taking 706, Marketing Strategy.

Just finished Org Strategy in AP1 with Minsum Kim, didn't find it very difficult but it was a good amount of coursework.

Looks like this thread has lost its mojo. No posts in the last 6 weeks.

The LSUS MBA is accreditated by the AACSB and that has to carry some weight right?

Yes, AACSB carries weight since only 5% of universities with business departments hold this accreditation.

Is there a spot in this thread somewhere, where people shared the ideal schedule starting with AP1 that gets you done in a year? A buddy and I were talking about this again and I told him I'd ask. Thanks
