| MADM 701 with Kimberley Williams. Any suggestions?|

If AT ALL possible, get into Kungu's 701. Really manageable workload and he is great.

@zachtiger I took it this morning and thought the same. It was pretty difficult 4 me & I studied hard. I second guessed myself on a few of them.

I was registered for that course. I checked ratemyprofessor and dropped it. Her reviews were pretty bad. People complained of excessive reading, weekly papers, and an insane amount of discussion posts required. Erin McLaughlin
had great reviews so I registered for her course. Wasn't much on either of them in here.

Hi All,

I have the followings pairs signed up for in Fall:

AP1
MADM 701 - McLaughlin, Erin

MKT 701 - Darrat, Aadel

AP2
ISDS 710 - Darrat, Mohamad

MADM 720 - Williams, Kimberley

Has anyone taken the above courses together?

Are these courses workload heavy? What kind of coursework is included?

Thank you!

Could have been. Could have sworn it was her tho. Another Williams perhaps then.

Khan Mktg--It seems as if he changed his class because theres a few folks who took him in the past saying he wasnt too bad.
But in the last couple weeks we have several folks saying how difficult hes been. Makes me think he made some changes.
I bombed the Marketing Problem as well and felt confident about most of my answers. Really strange.

There are two Darrat's, but you don't need to worry about which one you get. To my understanding, they are brothers and they even use the exact same syllabus, formats, rubrics, etc.

There are two WIlliams. DRAMATICALLY different from each other. F. Williams has very bad reviews. K. Williams has very good ones.

MADM 760 = No really bad professors (at least when I was taking it). You were pretty much spoilt for choices, and each one had their own pros and cons. A couple of important things to to note are: If your schedule or time zone makes it difficult to do group projects, don't take Meeks. If you're bad at self-learning, don't take McLaughlin.

MKT 701 = No really great professors (when I took it). But Darrat appeared to be the "cream of the crap". Not bad per se, but far from great.

I think Khan might change the format since last semester was his first. I don't like his way of teaching, his exam and test questions are vague and he expected too much for the writing activities. Worst of all, his questions are tricky and he said it was to make students understand more. I regret that I took his class not because of the vague and tricky test questions, I regret because he said that students experience was supposed to be different from the academic world. Whatever they teach us should help us apply the knowledge to the real world, not to trick us and we walk out of the class thinking I just take it to fullfill my MBA requirement. I was a manager for one of the Big Four and our audit papers had to be clear and simple enough that anyone who didn't have any accounting background could understand it. You do not understand your material if you don't know how to explain it in the simplest way. Giving vague and tricky questions is not a good way to teach anyone. Absolutely a waste of my time and money, I learn nothing from this class after 5 weeks. I will definitely review the class with the dean.

Khan Mktg: Got a 100 on Test 5.

I think he softened this one up. Hopefully the last one is similar.

Officially ready for Registration. Not a lot offered in AP2. Im in ISDS 705 with Lin.

Really only thing that looks like I could add on would be ECON 705 with White or Fanta. I am searching this thread, but not a ton of information yet.

Any information on either of these? or should I wait for a better offering

I’ve heard to avoid White for ECON.
My recommendation is keep checking regularly close toward class start dates because students will drop classes and you’ll be able to slip into one you want.

Looking to double up on ISDS 705 (Gibbs) and MADM 701 (McLaughlin). I am pretty good with Excel. Any reason why this would NOT be a good idea?

Any group work with either course/professor?

ISDS 705 with Gibbs is definitely pairable and you learn some nifty excel tricks along the way. FYI you may have to look up some workarounds if you own a Mac for a couple of the assignments
Can’t comment on the other class

What makes you say that about White? I am starting ECON with her in a couple of weeks and haven’t seen much about her in this thread.
