"Thanks Zach. How are you doing in the class? I had a hard time with the 3rd assessment and I am hovering around a 90%."
Same here, i think i am at a 91%. Had minor trouble with 2nd and 3rd assessment.

@sejaxon - I feel your pain, there is definitely a level of trickery, instead of just testing directly on knowledge of the material. He teaches it and gives examples, and then the tested material is totally different. I am a financial analyst for a living and am still struggling to keep an A in the class, as the assessment questions are far from straightforward and nothing like he covers. I feel sorry for the folks that dont have an accounting / finance background, they have to be struggling mightily.

In regards to ACCT 701, I agree, the last assessment was rough.
I'm curious about the final--will he use the same exact questions from quizzes and assessments?
Or create new ones?
Any students have any intel on this?
This could make or break a lot people in this class.
Thanks

If I were to guess, I would think it will be similar questions just worded differently with some different trickery mixed in to confuse or trip you up. He did say that he will give us a “practice final”, but based on his track record, it will probably be totally different than the actual questions on the final.

I really just dont see how he could expect students to go into a no-notes final and answer his assessment style questions in a timed test.
With 28 questions and 120 minutes to do it in.
Thats 4.28 minutes per question compared with his 6.6 minutes for the assessment.
Something tells me the questions may be more in line with the quizzes.

You can use your notes / book / excel for the final. Only thing barred is the internet, Hope your right though about the questions being more like the quizzes. Quite a few of the assessment questions take longer than 4 minutes for sure.

So... Anyone have any insight on John Harrison for MADM 760? I was originally only scheduled for ISDS 710 for next session (I also had it doubled up MADM 760 with Meeks, but dropped it because I would have had a blank session in Spring with the previous course rotation... regret that now). With the new course rotation starting next year, I can finish in 10 months instead of 12, so I'd like to just get it over with and double up.
Prior feedback indicated that Meeks is one of the absolute best professors, but that Heller is also very good. Feedback also suggested that I could double ISDS 710 with MADM 760. Any comments?
I am currently doubled up with MKT 701 - Darrat and MKT 705 - Kim, and it's been a lot of work, but generally manageable.

I am taking this class and struggling as well. I suppose to graduate in December and this class has me pulling my hair out. The test are extremely hard and are not straightforward at all. I flunked the first test horribly and it has been hell trying to bring my grade up. He is considering extra credit at the end, so hopefully it will help us get pass this class. This dude is nice and replies to students super fast but he is extremely hard in my opinion.

I am also taking this class. He is not teaching anything. On the last test, there was a term not used in any of the reading. I am not doing well either, I am hoping to just get by in this class, but it is going to kill my GPA. I will be commenting on the class review after this is over. I did notice that the material he has is just copied from other material that has more information. Copy and couple of sentences and search for them on google. You will find some other college has PDFs you can download that do give a little more info. may be helpful.

Considering Choi for FIN 701 in the spring, are his tests open book?
Posted on 9/25/18 at 5:06 pm to Rocky11
I can not remember If they were open book or not. The class in itself wasnt too difficult or time consuming. I recommend this professor.

I believe he said the final will be 26 multiple choice questions and 2 T/F questions which leads me to believe that the majority of the test will be off the assessments, which we can't review.

Hello. I am currently taking Ambrosio. In his intro video to the course he stated the final will come from the quizzes. He did not say if they will be the actual questions.
Hope this helps.

That makes two of us!
MKT 701 with Darrat and Acct 701 with Ambrosio.
I like Ambrosio's course. I'm carrying a strong "A".
I despise Darrat's class. I'm pulling a "c" which is the equivalent of getting an "F" in PE.
Acct test tomorrow and then 2 more weeks! ... You walking in December?
I ordered my "Forever LSU" class ring. Can't wait for it to come in.

I know nothing about Choi. However, Vine's course, though stressful for me, was a great course. He only has 4 exams. No textbooks. He gives the reading and practice questions for the tests - which are open book and he advocates prepping an excel sheet prior to the test.
He holds weekly Zoom sessions (more if necessary) and permits open dialogue on his class forum - this includes helping other students by detailing exactly how a problem is solved (stepped used) and if curious, WHY something is done a certain way.
His grading is VERY generous.

I will complete the program in two weeks. I started this adventure in January. Ten months.
Two courses while working a full-time job and being a single-mom to twin 17 year old boys.
I've had zero life for these past 10 months - but it's been worth it.
