I’m hearing rumors of Entergy Electic Bills that are 2-3 times higher than normal? I understand an increase, but not this much. Anyone else hearing or actually seeing this??

My latest bill is $28…I’ve never had a bill this low in my entire life. I’m almost considering overpaying like $50 because I think they made a mistake and the correction will be absurd.

I average about $60-$90 on the winter time so this feels odd

My most recent bill was $40-50 more than normal. With the cooler weather we've been running our heat more because my wife gets cold very easily. I've seen people in my neighborhood mainly complaining about Demco but it seems that was due to them estimating and not reading the meters for months and then finally catching up.

Mine this past month was double the usual peak prices.

Normally 150ish with peak in low 200s, this past month was over 400

My north Louisiana friends were bitching of Bill's double the costs from last year

I saw a 25% uptick this summer. On natural gas through the city right now for heat so havent seen any more entergy increase but expect more coming

Solar panels might be cost effective soon

Mine was $130 January 2021. $230 January 2022

All this AFTER I replaced all my single pane aluminum windows in the house with double pane.

Ours is way up... our kWh is up and the fuel add up is waaaay up. I get fuel costs more right now but I don't understand the kWh increase. This winter has been very mild, we haven't been running much of our gas furnace or our electric a/c.

Meanwhile my natural gas bill (Atmos) has tracked pretty close to a normal year. We just paid $73 on 58 ccf. Last Feb we paid $75 on 69 ccf.

So our gas usage has gone down... but bill about the same because gas fuel charge goes up... which again I understand.

My bill for last month was $168. That's a good bit high considering the mild winter we've had. As we get into Spring, with some 24-hour periods going by without needing heat nor A/C, that will really tell the tale for my home.

Fuel surcharges has increased by more than 50% in the last year to help them offset hurricane costs.

Yeah, that's not how that is supposed to work.

That's what happened I'm sure though.

Freaking Entergy.

The change to automated meters has affected costs. Apparently lots of historical pencil whipping

However, those meters do malfunction. My farmer tracked his usage and found a 50K dollar error from billed to actual.

I'd suggest watching usage and comparing to billed for a couple cycles

NYC has had such major increases that people calling in to complain has resulted in them shutting down their customer service lines.
