I'm feeling you. I'm not really hung over, but I didn't get anything accomplished today, besides sleeping until 4 and then hanging out at the pool.

With my recent history of randomly knowing posters, I'm willing to bet we have. I dominated the party scene in 2007.

Has anyone taken a study course for the GMAT? I'm leaning towards veritas prep. Just curious if it's worth it?

When I took the GMAT last August I studied 2-3 hrs a day for 3 months... I know people who have studied a few days and done well and I know people who work their arse off... From my experience, its just a test that shows how well/hard you studied. I am not even close to as smart as my score would indicate... haha

I will tell you, I stoped studing the last week and cleared my mind before a quick recap the morning of. I needed a break though. If you've studied a lot I'd say give your mind a break. Alot of people I've talked to were just brain-dead from studying too much the last week.

I said hot damn! Good work, I've studied off and on for three weeks. Hoping for at least a 650

Yea. I needed a good grade to do what I wanted so I worked my tail off. I honestly think its easiest to bump up your score really learning the math section, but theres limited upside. Most people do much better on the quantitative section and after a certain point you need to improve verbal...

Working problems and making sure you know WHY you got it right or wrong was the biggest help for me. At first I would jsut do problems and either get them right or wrong... It took me 2 months to realize I needed to make sure I knew why I was missing problems so I don't miss them again. haha.

3 months is pushing the limit I think. You did well (obviously) to take a week off. JM should do fine moving from a 620 to a 650 in 3 weeks.

Is anyone here chasing top 10 schools? It seems like all the MBA talk is UNO, LSU and Tulane.

I would suggest two things.

1. Use Princeton Review. Much better than Kaplan.

2. Take the training for the LSAT - and then actually take the LSAT first. The LSAT is basically a tougher version of the GMAT (not exactly, but the reading definitely is).

3. Then prep for and take the GMAT.

By training for a harder test it will make the one you actually take seem a lot easier. Sort of like a batter putting on a weight on his batt in the on-deck circle at a baseball game.

I found that the LSAT was in no way harder than the GMAT.

I found the verbal more challenging, suggesting this purely for those who want to increase their verbal score.

I'm thinking about it, but I'm not sure that it is worth it (in my particular situation)...Assuming I could even get in.

And count me in the LSAT was more difficult than the GMAT category. For me, it wasn't even close, as the GMAT catered to more of my natural strengths.

I'm at University of Tulsa getting my MBA right now. Top 25's are hard as hell to get into these days. My buddy had a 3.9 GPA in undergrad from Washington University (top 30 school) 3 years work experience and a 720 on the GMAT and got fricking wait listed at Texas.

disproportionally hard to get into. I think it's because everyone wants to live in Austin and have a good football team to route for.

I have been doing that a lot.

I wouldn't miss it on the GMAT because they only test for commonly misspelled words and I seem to be missing the ones that nobody has a problem with.

Report: Improved my verbal to 78%, but dropped to 60% in the quant.(from 66%).
640 overall, not quite what I was hoping for but I spoke with the school and they said my package had already been evaluated and that I was in!!!!!!!!!
