The premiums on the calls are insane. NVDA would have to jump 12% after earnings just for the ITM option to break even.

Options action seems to be suggesting a period similar to what happened after August. I trimmed about 1/2 my position after hours last night. I think we may see some consolidation in the next couple of months followed by another big run before year end.

SMCI is getting smoked after an unbelievable run.

Earnings are reported in two weeks…you predicting flat? Can’t see a pullback unless that’s the case.

I am not predicting flat earnings. The earnings are going to be great. The guidance through 2025 is going to be good, too. I am predicting a flat response for the next quarter and then taking off again by the end of the year. I only trimmed 1/2 of a very large position. I still see it as a $1200-$1500 stock in the next 18 months.

Look at SMCI. People are wanting a reasons to crush the high flyers right now. Crushing NVDA will mean keeping it flat to slight consolidation for a brief period before it explodes again IMO.

I moved into SNAP since it is back in a pattern of running up to earnings, falling 30% - 40% after reporting and then running up to earnings again. That has been a cash cow play for this scenario in the last two years and I don’t see NVDA moving 30-40% this quarter.

I could be very wrong about all of this. It was also no tax hit for me to sell as all shares were long term holds. Well, every sell with a gain is a tax hit, but these were all taxed as long term capital gains.

Good luck day trading.

You know what else is cool, holding NVDA for a year and being up over 200%.

Do you know who really wants the stock to fall? All the big boys who said they wouldn’t touch it at $400 per share.

I wouldn't short it on a bet or a dare as timing will likely prove difficult but if you're long I would suggest you familiarize yourself with CoreWeave.

LINK

I'm not endorsing Samantha's conclusions or making an attempt to answer the obvious question "is the demand real"? But since Coreweave started to get questioned six months ago a lot of other people have begun asking questions.

LINK

Again, I'm not drawing conclusions, but if you're long anything it's important to read criticisms and decide for yourself how much of it, if any, is true.

More than likely a "NO". This is a buying opportunity.

NVDA is not a good option for short, outside of a badass day trader like OP is.

I’d be willing to gamble like 100 bucks that nvda pulls a smci with earnings but it seems that it’s already priced in

I accept your $100 bet and take the side that NVDA will not fall 30% from its recent high, El Groucho.

This thing will either rocket or crash hard after ER tomorrow afternoon. Too volatile for me. But will most definitely move SPY following the release. I'm in wait and see mode.

I'm referring to the price when he created the thread and posed the question.
Since the price is down nearly 10 percent from the time he created the thread then obviously YES it was time to short, at the time he created the thread

It’s down about 6% since the thread was started but point taken.

I expect it to drop today going into earnings. I also suspect it will initially drop after earnings but should recover soon thereafter moving into next week.
