Congrats fizz. What events transpired in the 24 hours after you received these results?

Its only been about 3 hrs, but they will be filled with a mixture of procrastination (this) and studying/taking my last 2 finals: international finance and taxation in business planning. I am happy I passed it, but the feeling is more of one where I would've been really pissed off if I hadn't passed, rather than overjoy that I did.

Failure, but with solid marks

Dear TheHiddenFlask,
Your results for the June 2010 Level II CFA exam are below. The pass rate for June 2010 Level II was 39%. If you have questions or comments, please contact us.

Level II: Fail

The table below illustrates your subject matter strengths and weaknesses. The three columns on the right are marked with asterisks to indicate your performance on each question or topic area.

I don't know what happened to me on fixed income, but I definitely dropped the ball on that one.

There's always next year :sigh:

After watching douche after douche post a row of 90%s on AF, I feel like I barely passed.

Congrats kfizz. THF that stinks, that must be painful. Better luck next time and I think it is great you both are cranking out the effort to gain the certification.

Looks like buying a bimmer with a vanity plate might be a tad easier on the noggin.

That's impossible.

If he actually did that, it's not real. 70% is the highest it goes.

Also, it's not that special get straight 70's. My best friend took it with me and pulled perfect marks.

It just means that that guy wasted his time over studying.

Thanks for the wishes, but don't worry about me. I had braced myself for it and the pain of failure isn't as bad as waiting on the results, so it's a net relief.

I can't say that I deserved to pass, but that 61% failure rate on level 2 is a buzzkill. Usually level 2 has a higher passage rate than level 1. That's the lame thing about the black box grading system.

For clarification, band 8 means that I was in the top 20-30% of all failing candidates. So, I missed it by a sizeable margin, but under normal passage rates, I would have either passed or come very close to doing so.

Either way, I figure that level 2 in 2011 will just be a layup since I've already covered all of the material.

He's a pretty sharp fellow. He took the GMAT blind and dropped a 720 and is at the top of his law school class. This guy was really impressive because when I was churning out study time the month before the test, he was playing 27 holes of golf and reading 4 hours a day, washing it all down with several glasses of scotch.

I'm sure the guys bragging about it were really busting hump to get what they got.

In law school and taking L2? Makes me feel inadequate.

No, he's doing JD/MBA. He took L1 last year, but opted out of taking L2 this year while being an L1.

Don't let my lackluster news ruin the Kfizz congratulatory train. I'm not ashamed of failing. The test has a 60% failure rate for people who already passed level 1. Next time around will be a layup and I'll be on to level 3. I couldn't have received my charter for 4 years any way.

To get this back on track

I know L1 is simple, as I said, I would've been massively disappointed had I failed. You not passing L2 just solidifies, in my mind, how much more of a challenge it is.
