So the answer was no.....
And frick the Ivy leagues, I have 2 degrees from LSU.....And grew up surrounded by family members who made more money than a small percentage of ivy leaguers working their way up and investing in the oil and gas field.

Are you trying to time the market with your 401k? I've always been told not to do that. Maybe I misunderstood your post.

No, I am not that smart. Just a hunch on a dip after the first. Wrong again.

ou give the impression you believe you are the only person on this board who knows how to make money in the stock market.
I don't think he does, he's just more vocal about what he does. Which, IMO, is a breath of fresh air around here. Most of the intelligent posters here are very close to the vest when it comes to their particular investments and strategies, and when people ask for advice or help they are met with sarcasm and pretentiousness.
Whether you think he's arrogant or not, there's no denying he is very transparent with his trades. That's respectable IMO.

After a rough start with him, I have come to really like Iowa Golfer.
He has the balls to make big statements and the brains to back them up. There were several of those types around here ~5 years ago and it was a lot of fun.

I thought this was all directed at Use the Force, not me. I was defending Use the Force.
Imagine that. A bunch of higher income guys on here, successful at their chosen endeavors, that are Type A and bull headed.
Any way, all of my losers on are out in the open on here. I just grow tired of posts that suggest some only pick winners 100% of the time. Because that doesn't much fit in with my reality.

If you hit .600, your doing real good in the market.

My biggest lessons learned were from losing positions - not winning ones.
I have matured and done a much better job of understanding my trades.

As are mine. For instance I just took it in the teeth on a starter position in gold. Losses happen. If you are in the trading/investing world for long, they happen more often then the successes. How losses are managed are the key to being successful.

I do reserve the right to small amounts of flaunting if someone went against my number one rule and bought gold.

I've been meaning to ask...
Were there margin hikes last Thurs. for traders in many futures contracts such as ES? That is a non-monetary tool for taking some froth off the market.
For those of you who do not have trading accounts, please consider that moving in and out of funds in a 401K can cost you money and can also lock you out of certain funds (in some plans) for a period of time. Read your plan info carefully.

I knew better, it's in a bear market at the moment. I paid the price.
I've made good money in S&P, NQ, and Dow futures this year. Dented the profits a little with gold. Going forward the three mentioned above and the USD are going to be the best things to trade in IMO.
