Going back to Governor Abbott
Texas GDP - $2.7 trillion
Canada - $2.1 trillion
Canada cannot survive against USA, they are a very soft people up there. They are already fighting issues of immigration and housing shortages, they are ready to break.
Mexico GDP - $1.7 trillion
USA GDP - $29.1 trillion

Yeah, we know interest rates aren’t coming to come down near as much and as soon as you think they are.

I cba at the moment to confirm the timing, but if this Reddit user nailed what was going to happen, that shite’s funny:
LINK
Eta: looks like our friendly redditor was right. Now, it certainly looks like the move was because Trump was saber rattling so much over it, but Canada had committed to exactly $1.3B to border security in mid December, long before Trump actually took office and started threatening tariffs as president. Looks like the reason Canada “conceded” so quickly is because they simply reminded him of what they had already said they would do nearly two months ago: LINK

Pretty much. Canada agrees to do what they already were going to do, after enacting retaliatory tariffs.
This is “caving” per the first church of Musk.

They were.
I also predicted this would be walked back by Tuesday in the crypto thread and the market is overreacting.
Most sane people knew Trump was full of shite (again) and that’s why he said “Canada misunderstood” (definitely what someone says when they “won”).
He expected them to act as if he was full of shite and they didn’t.

That's dishonest. The fact is, they agreed to that with Trump in Dec and had not done anything.
Here's your article from Dec showing that.
Canada announces new border funding after Trump tariff threat
By Reuters

CTV... Canadian news
quote:
Canada's government on Monday proposed C$1.3 billion ($913.05 million) for border security after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump threatened tariffs unless Canada reduced the movement of migrants and drugs into the United States.
The border funding proposal was part of the mini-budget, or fall economic statement unveiled on Monday. Trump has threatened 25% tariffs on all exports to the U.S. from Canada and Mexico.
The money would go towards Public Safety Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency, the Communications Security Establishment, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police," the statement said.
The statement said the government intended to introduce legislative amendments to the Customs Act to grant Canada Border Services new authorities to inspect goods destined for export.
The money and promised changes never took place. They will now!

Again, Dishonest. Due to Trump they expanded what they promised.
Here's your next link: LINK

Trump agreed to the delay after Trudeau said he would expand Canada’s existing $1.3-billion border protection plan.
It's one thing to not like the policies of Trump or any President. But there is no need in being dishonest about things.

You see what you want to see.
Even if I agree with your premise (I don’t), Trump tanked the market for a day instead of picking up the phone.
He’s retarded and so are you.
