How should I allocate my 401k? It's with Fidelity and the options are not great.

My 401k is pretty stagnant and I'm thinking I don't have the right mix of asset allocation, but my options aren't great.

Currently I'm in:

Fid Contra Pool CL 2
NT S&P 500 IDX NL 4
MFS MID CP GROWTH CT
NT EXT MKT IDX NL 4
TRP RETIRE 2045 J

The majority of my current 401k balance is in the Fid Contra Pool and the TRP Retire 2045 funds.

The other options available to me are:

JPM EQUITY INCOME R6(OIEJX)
AM CENT MD CP VAL R6(AMDVX)
NT EXT MKT IDX NL 4
LOOMIS SM CP GRTH N(LSSNX)
VICTORY S SM CP OPP
FID INTL DSCVRY POOL
NT ACWI EX US IMI 4

Several bonds:

MIP II CL 3

BLKRK TOT RETURN K(MPHQX)

NT AGGR BD IDX NL 4

And a bunch of those TRP target year funds.

Should I change my current investment mix? What percentages should I be allocating to each? This stuff is very confusing to me and I'm not making a huge salary, so I want to get good advice and I trust the money board

FID INTL DSCVRY POOL has been pretty good to me in my 401k....about 10.7% of my total

Sorry not familiar with the rest of them, but seems like an odd mix for sure.

I wish we had a decent target year fund, but my choices are what I listed

What do you mean not great options? You got all you need. Put 100% in the 500 fund and call it a day.

Northern Stock Index NOSIX

Nice fund, low fee .05%. Pays a 1.54% yield. Up 18.37% for the last year. Averaged 10.84% over 15 years (12.69% over 10 years). Sweet!

Contra and/or 500, set it and forget it.

I personally don't like target date funds because they're too conservative for my tastes, and usually have higher fees. I also hate bond funds for long term (10 years or more) investing, and any TDF will always allocate an ever increasing % to a bond fund of some type.

Looks like this question has already been answered to some degree but I'd like to get opinions.

I'm 54. For 10+ years, roughly 80% of my Fidelity 401k has been in Fid Contra Pool, which is performing well. The other funds in my portfolio are not growing as I'd like, and I feel it's time to redistribute.

I'm thinking I'll keep a majority in Contra, and move the rest into another growth fund or two. MainStay Winslow Large Cap Growth (MLRSX) is performing very well recently and over 12% lifetime. Mostly tech & healthcare stocks. The Fidelity 500 Index fund looks like a steady investment, 10%-11% yoy.

Should I diversify more than I am considering (three funds)? I don't know enough about these funds to know, for example, what are Contra's risks?

Would 60% Contra /20% Fid 500 IDX /20% MLRSX be a good allocation for someone my age?

Can you invest in the Nasdaq-100 index? It looks like it beats the pants off of Fidelity's Contra. It's cheaper to own as well.
