I have 6. One from my bank has no annual fee. Above average points benefits.
I have an Amazon card with no annual fee (because my annual fee is Prime membership). By linking the card to my Amazon account, the Prime membership fee pays for itself during the first 3 months of every year in cash back due to purchases. It functions as an Amazon discount card the other 9 months of the year.
I have 2 hotel cards (Marriott and Hilton). One has an annual fee, but that annual fee pays for a “free” standard room per year and room upgrades throughout the year. I use 2 because it gives me options when selecting a hotel in the cities I travel.
I fly regularly so I also use a Southwest card and a United card. United has an annual fee but it pays for United Club membership to get away from the riff raff and enjoy “free” booze, food, accessible charging stations and clean uncrowded bathrooms. I get my money’s worth from both inputs and outputs.
Each card is used for purchases associated with their brand, but outside of that, I rotate card use based on which one has the lowest balance.
I pay the complete statement balance for each, every month.

Most car dealerships will let you put up to $5000 on a car which is a great points opportunity
I bought a new truck, a little over $5K, used my credit card.

3
One for recurring bills only
One for daily use
One tucked in my truck in case I forget my wallet at home.

Jus one. Not a baller. Limit is 5k. Not really trying to maximize points. Use it for most purchases but main reason for having it is credit history and fraud protection

Basically I'm right on the line with that one where it is in my wallet to escape disaster if I need it, get a lounge if not slammed or whatever. A few Amex offers a year usually put it in a net positive position.
Things like cell phone insurance push it over the top. $850 in repair/replacement reimbursement allows you to drop whatever cell phone insurance coverage you have. More than 1 line makes that easily a huge benefit

There are other cards that offer cell phone insurance as well and have a cheaper or no annual fee for anyone looking for coverage that doesn't want to pay that high of a annual fee. $850 is a good amount though.
Well fargo autograph has no annual fee and offers $600 in protection with up to two claims per 12 months. And 3% back on cellphone plans. Also a really good cash back travel card.

Just got hit with the renewal fee and almost canceled. We use easily 700-800 in rewards offers a year, but restrictions to club access at airports and the ever increasing hike means this will probably be last year.
I have over 260k in points. What is the best way to move them out?
Have an Amex gold delta as well.

Open a Blue Business Plus or AmEx Everyday card. Both no annual fee Membership Rewards cards

I'd try to avoid transferring them out from Amex if you don't have a good use. You can get a no fee Amex Everyday or something like that to hold them so you don't lose them.
