I say $40. OPEC puts the floor under at that price.
Better question how long until it goes back to $100? Largely depends on when the overall economy rebounds, so I say two to three years.

What say you?

40- matter of months.
100- possibly never. At least, it will never stabilize there.

I don't think opec can control the price of oil. Opec only controls part of the supply and many opec members love to cheat.

I have no idea what the price will be though. I am somewhat surprised it dropped as fast as it did.

I can deal with that. Tentex, its nice Nashville finally got back under $2. Over the west side it was killing me paying more knowing that Mt Juliet was 20-30 cents cheaper.

On West End it's 2.09 as of a few hours ago when I walked by. Not bad considering it was 2.49 like last week.

Sweet. Bellevue finally hit $1.99 and $1.95 in a couple of places.

We're lower than the national average. I'm new here, is it usually quite a bit lower?

From another report.

If OPEC had that much control, they would have done that months ago. Their control of prices is overstated. Same with oil companies.

Prices could go <$30 if we have a prolonged global recession.

I remember when David Duke ran for governor part of his platform was that oil would surpass $35/barrel...it was hanging tight at around $18 at the time I think.

Ah, Lousiana has had more than their share of colorful politicians haven't they?

+1

I hope we stay under $50/barrel not to screw La..but to take some of the arrogance and power away from those OPEC frickers.

It'll go back up. I suspect the oil refineries had stockpiled oil when the prices were low and when the economic markets find a "bottom" the speculation of oil will rise back up.

$40 is probably the bottom. LOTS of oil goes offline at $40/bbl.

And T. Boone is full of shite. He's already blown up one of his hedge funds this year. Dude is talking his book, nothing more.
