I'd like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to re-read the original post in hopes that you can all take a breath and find the exit. Or just not enter in the first place as is becoming a problem.
If you'd like to continue on insulting each other, knowing it was all a misunderstanding to begin with, well I'm your huckleberry. ;)

It's because you live in Louisiana and there isn't enough competition between insurance companies.
I live in the Midwest and my homeowner's policy was set to go up in August, I shopped around and found about $50k more in coverage (which is about what it'd cost to rebuild my house now compared to pre-inflation) for about the same as I was previously paying.
When I bundled my auto, I'll be saving about 50% on auto and paying the same for homeowners with a lot more coverage all around.

My final thought on this thread; most people on the MB are here for decent non OT discussions/responses and some of your responses have been overly OT in nature. We can all agree having to over pay for home insurance sucks and insurance companies have us by the balls. Good luck with figuring your situation out.
He comes across as just attempting to be as obnoxious as possible. We're not perfect as a group but very few MT posters behave like this thread.
Our resident troll is El Gaucho but he doesn't run around calling people the equivalent of assholes or thieves.

Tough to shop around right now. Minimal options available and another 40,000 policies will be cancelled in may since UPC lost their financial rating. Do a quick google search of Louisiana home insurance and it should make more sense to you. Most people in South LA are just lucky to get a renewal offer at this point.

Yeah I felt lucky to get away from the rep/company we had an issue with AND get cheaper insurance within a day. Could have gone alot worse.

It will only get worse. Another national carrier will stop writing starting Jan 1. They can't take rate increases quick enough. The reinsurance costs in Louisiana are too high for the carriers to be profitable.

Having not said a single thing to you this entire thread, or ever, you pop back in to call me obnoxious.
Even after pointing that out, you'll still go on acting like I'm the a-hole in this thread.
God forbid I give as good as I get when people misunderstand something and go head first off the deep end.

Low risk states are looking better and better with every rate hike. Ha Especially the ones with no state income tax and beautiful surroundings.

Agreed.

Weather risk probably isn't doing your premium any favors either.

I’m sure the state will miss you profusely. Head out if it’s that bad. Will you bless us by leaving TD too when you leave the state? Asking for a friend of course.

I haven’t seen anyone on here post the actual reason for increases. Chad understands but I don’t think he wants to give you the time of day. It has more to do with Europe and Florida than it does with Louisiana.

Good for him for choosing not to engage in this petty back and forth we have going.

Having to rebuild significant portions of the state every year. Risk.
Hey guys upvote me if this is correct...

Hahahhahaha!!!!!
You can't be an adult male. You just can't. The thought that you've been following me around for 4 days downvoting everything I say absolutely fascinates me.
Its like I've taken a grown man and regressed and transitioned him into an 8 year old girl.
I've never downvoted the same person more than a few times in the 6 years I've been on here. The combination of anger and helplessness it must take to do what you're doing has never afflicted me.
And that you're feeling empowered by your little support group of "green checks" has got to be the most precious f'ing thing I've ever read on here.
Please don't stop responding.

I just gave you your first upvote for that post. I'm part of your support group now. Lololol
