Anyone have any experience with this? I have been approached about our house being used for a TV/Movie production. I am going to speak with the person today that left a message at our house. any questions I should be asking?

I'm assuming you know EXACTLY what show it is for? I'd make sure I get that CLEARLY spelled out in writing.

If they use your yard make them replace all your sod because it will be ruined.
Don’t be afraid to ask for shite that you think they may balk at. If they want your house they will make it work. If they shoot in your house they will do their best to keep things tidy but in my limited experience they will just give you money for inevitable touch up repairs needed.
My parents had a movie shoot in their home for two weeks and while they probably wouldn’t do it again it was fun/worth it for that one time.

Filmed some commercial clips at our former house, about 3 hours of filming. Catered lunch and got a check for $1,200.

Wicked pictures? Adam and Eve productions?

I know three families that rented their homes in Shreveport for movie shoots. They all had good experiences and made some nice $ for the inconvenience.
There used to be a lot of such rentals in this area. I don't recall hearing any horror stories.

They will tear up your yard, may walk all over roof, mess up house etc. get it all fixed and in writing, and you will need to check on them.
CSB:
Neighbor did the house rental to film, they got a permit to film during the daytime. The scene at their house was a nighttime pool party so they filmed ALL FREAKING NIGHT.
The baby and I slept through it, but my wife was constantly waking up and waking me up asking “do you hear that shite?”
In the end I threatened to call sheriffs Dept to cancel their permit Bc I was tired of my wife complaining, they offered me $1000 for “space rental”, I countered with $2500, and got like $2k.
Normally whateve they offer you can double and get. A friend owns an office next to a site that films routinely in Nola and he hoses them monthly. They share a courtyard separated by some planters he has a new bbq pit and radio in a closet he drags out to fake a party.

Just make sure it's not a small film .... if it's a TV or Film produced by a studio then you are fine. They have professionals on the crew, good insurance and will clean up any messes. Not to mention $$$ to displace you/your family.
And depending on your house you may get some upgrades. I'm in the business and we often beautify properties with new paint, flooring, greens etc.

hmmmm ... not sure i have. Did they say it was for a particular project? They may be just scouting for their database. Either way make sure it's not a super small movie (under 2million)
Everything else will be union (more experienced crew), bonded/insured and likely have more of a locations budget.
