I think I remember him mentioning he has sold off and bought back...a few times or something like that. If he sold off then bought back more shares a few times... maybe he is calculating his avg cost per share based only on his total out of pocket investment to his total shares. If I am not mistaken the brokerage apps don't calculate that... of course its just a guess. I don't think you can definitely prove him wrong without seeing every trade he made with AMC.

You know what would be a lot easier and more convincing? Just grab a screenshot of your AMC holdings from your brokerage account. But for some reason you won't... can't figure out why that would be

As much as you'd like it not to be so, I have been right about this stock. Instead of buying $7.50 puts, you'd have been a lot better off, putting your $75 in in when I was telling you to, back when it dropped to $5. Hell, You'd have tripled your money if you had done that just a few weeks ago! But instead, you come here, day after day, playing the clown, while some of us are staring at massive gains.
Take a hint like you do from your boyfriend when he pats that head........enough already.

I'm sure this will get downvoted, and in that, I understand. Some just don't want something to be so.
But, here's something interesting I ran across tonight that I have not seen before, and it's hard to argue with. I look forward to seeing legitimate posts on why this guy is wrong.

Even moreso on a financial forum where people will make moves with their hard earned money based on what other people are saying or (allegedly) doing. It's the epitome of being an absolute a-hole.

your cost basis is the the amount of money you invested to buy the shares currently in your account divided by the number of those shares

BTW, my number is based on my initial investment. Buy, sell, buy, at the end of the day cost basis, is cost basis based on capital input.
