Why did this get downvotes? It's up like 90% in a week and still holding STRONG support.

Ha! Chitstain downvotes just about every post I make, regardless of what it says. Don't take it personal. Some people got that green-eyed monster and hate to see others do well.

I’m glad y’all have made money here, but surely you must realize how lucky it was to get a second spike on GME and AMC. 99%+ of the time this would have ended with tons of permanent bag holders from the first spike. I just don’t like how these stocks have spillover effects to the rest of the market. Maybe it was a coincidence and really just bond rates rising, but growth stocks got hammered just after the first GME spike.

I think the more important statement in the Forbes article is where he discusses that even a highly shorted and crowded stock won't squeeze as long as the short is profitable. Once the cost to borrow and stock price starts creating losses, that's really when the likelihood of a squeeze becomes high... hence the 1.2B lost this past week for the shorts!!

They can't stomach that level of losses forever... they will get called.

All the "speculation" is fun and exciting because it creates the buzz of possibilities, but that same speculation can make you do things that don't make sense. I wish there was a formula or road map to share but honestly I think even the most sound DD is flawed. Hard facts and numbers have holes and come in delayed so this might just come down to what's your number and did you get "lucky" enough to sell at that point. Not to say you shouldn't have a plan, but be prepared to adjust. Like Mike says, "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth".

It feels like the time is getting close!

and the guy who buys AMC at these levels is likely to have to do the same without an aggressive exit strategy

They keep shorting it even more, trying to drive the price down. Thing is, retail keeps buying. They are now pushing buy orders thru dark pools. That's exactly how we see the price drop even though inflow is far outpacing outflow. Smoke and mirrors. Thing is, you are exactly right. They can not stomach these losses much longer, and all it takes is the first one to start covering, then they start falling like dominos.

Tuesday should be off the chain, but keep an eye on the foreign markets that are open Monday. That should be very telling, as well.

I read some information about the share count. What's alarming is the lack of transparency on some of this stuff.
I honestly have no idea if this thing will squeeze or not but based of the information I've read something seems off.

Apparently, some European brokers aren't doing anything to facilitate their clients ability to proxy vote. Adam Aron tweeted out something regarding this and advised people to switch brokers.

Just read on CNBC that S3 partners says around 20% is still shorted. Is there a way to see when those chickens come home to roost? As in, what’s the date they have to close positions. I thought it was June 2nd or 6th due to the shareholder meeting

They don’t have to close their positions as long as they’re meeting their capital requirements. The higher the stock goes, the more difficult that becomes.

Watch that interest rate as the price rises.
