So going to split my powder between 2020 ira funding and 2-3 stocks. What stocks are you all recommending? I assume an oil company and one of the airlines.

Can’t buy airlines until people start getting back on the planes.

This is the key... I have a piece of paper where I wrote down a bunch of lessons learned in 2008...Saved it for the next time we had a monster drop.... That is basically one of tips I wrote...Don't get caught up in the sexy stuff thinking you are going to miss out... Buy good companies with proven records that should continue to make a lot of money...Thats all you gotta do...Then just HOLD ... there will be scary drops on the way up...HOLD

Visa was up massive today. It will come back down and I would jump on it.

FWIW ... my Amazon shares are worth more than they were three months ago.

Disney is probably my favorite company. I think they go lower especially after today’s rally. I plan on buying on each 5%ish drop from here all the way down. Their Disney + is being rolled out in Europe. Due to the amazing branding, there won’t be the need to make special content for each market. Disney’s brand works everywhere. With the self quarantined instituted around the world, there will be a lot of families looking to home entertainment. I expect Disney + will get a lot of attention in the short term. Now this is only a very small portion of their company, so it can’t offset all the losses at parks and sports. But, the streaming growth now, coupled with the rest of the company returning to form later in the year = a very enticing company.

I’m mostly invested in Mutual funds, but I’ll be heavy Disney here soon.

Earnings are coming up. I’m staying in cash until they pass. Huge volatility coming with them, because there will be overreactions in both directions.

I keep going back and forth or oil, thinking of staying clear for now.

Me too. I’d rather be sorry I missed the train, than sorry I bought too soon and in a situation hard to get out of.

I have been dca into oil for a few weeks now..

A lot of op on here are pretty good at finding good stocks and near term profit...,.

But I am retired and want dividend stocks to mix with my bonds ....( i have growth stocks in a different bucket)

I look at them more as Decent return on an AAA ish corporation....their dividends are usually better than the bond rate and buy in....

fyi i have been focused on rdsb now maybe a little xom.... i stay away from shell players and want global integrated energy...

not a bad time to pick them up for your long term dividend bucket

fyi other non sexy ones: abbv---mo---vz

BUD

Honorable mention:
UPS
BRK (my favorite but no divvy so I’d throw it in a taxable account before IRA)

If cvx drops to 50s again, I may unload on that one.

PENN mentioned earlier. If it takes a hit.

I got in too early on a couple buys and am stuck for a bit, but any recovery and we will be back quickly making
