Financing the Purchase of 2 Vehicles at Once

There is a possibility that the wife and I will be moving for my next job. We may be moving out of a metropolitan area where we rely on public transportation, Zipcar, and the ability to walk to work. If so, we may be required to purchase 2 vehicles.
How would financing the purchase of 2 vehicles work?
Assuming I buy from the same dealer, would it be a single loan for both vehicles or 2 loans(one for each)? In this case, would there be a difference between dealer lenders and outside lenders?

Separate titles. Separate loans.

Different VIN for each, different loans (unless you go the equity route and take money out of your home - something I would not do for automobiles). Go in with financing already pre-approved. Check out PenFed, LightStream or your local credit union.
