Paid off our house last week????. Shouldn’t I be getting checks cut back to me for the amounts in that account representing whats in there for homeowners insurance and property taxes?

Within 30 days you'll get your check.

Your payoff amount may have been reduced by the balance in your escrow account as well. But I think you need a snickers

Out of curiosity, how much do you have in there?

If you are in Louisiana, when you receive the original note marked paid (or some other form of release of the mortgage), take it to the clerk of court and have your mortgage canceled on the records. If you wait until it is time to sell the house, you or your heirs may not be able to find that document, and it will be a PITA to clear the mortgage, especially if the mortgage servicer has merged, gone out of business, etc.

It took about a month before Chase sent me my escrow money
