You're a "keep all your money in a savings account, or, if you're feeling real risky, a CD" type guy aren't ya?

You must be new here. I'm prob top 10% in risky guys here. But calling a scam a scam triggers the Dave Ramseys.

With the strength of the dollar, now is a good time to be investing outside of the US. I own a few companies primarily traded on Canadian and Aussie exchanges and they have gotten cheaper as the exchange rate continues to climb in favor of the dollar.

But invention and company growth are faster than ever before. It’s really not slowing down.

Well we should open under 30k unless futures turn around. More interested in the S&P though. We are getting pretty close to the June lows. About 80-90 points away.

I've had a bet with my FIL since May that the Dow would be at 24 by the end of the year. The next 30-60 days will tell whether I was too bearish or not.

I don’t think we get that low. I’d say 28 at worst, but I don’t think we actually fall below 29. Nothing backing that up, just a feeling.

There are some people who are extremely emotional, to the point of being irrational, about these savings vehicles going down.

You see it with RE a lot, too, when markets heat up. People have been making all sorts of insane arguments about how it's impossible that housing can having a major decrease in pricing. Now it's rationalized as "well my interest rates are low so it's cool even if I lose 20%".

There are 2 dominant personalities with investing: (1) those who understand prices go up and down; and (2) people who only think prices go up, who typically become dominant voices during bull markets, which is why bull markets can get so irrational.

If what the Fed Governors are indicating is true, look out below.

2/10 Yield Curve inversions are one of the best indicators of recessions/depressions, and we've been inverted since end of Q1 and it's just getting started.

There's also no housing inventory shortage. That has been in a historic 3 month correction.

I said that to him because he only posts on down days and only says silly things like

I think we see 15k by the end of year

A very ugly day
And I don’t see an end

quote:

It’s about to get even uglier

Yikes
This is bad

He really is afraid of his own shadow. He shouldn't be invested in the market if his risk tolerance is that low
