re: Diving deeper on Standard Lithium?

Make that 2.93... and climbing.

STLHF is a lot less speculative IMO.
Yeah. STLHF has its solid proofs of concept and a very viable plan to produce the highest quality lithium at a market beating price. It is not dependent on the political fickle of a government contract.
Their share of the market is there for the taking.

My only regret is I didn’t buy more on this dip.

Everything is dependent on political forces.
I got burned on WKHS so I'm looking closer at my other large investment STLHF.
Remember STLHF is a canadian company. Trump renegotiated the NAFTA agreement and everything looked real good for Stlhf.
Fast forward. New administration and we are still waiting for the JV (joint Venture) to be signed between STLHF and Lanxess. Why?
Trump put tariffs on imports. If the dumbass in the white house lifts the tariffs then STLHF will not be as profitable. I still think they will make a profit but it will be smaller and imo this is what is holding up the JV signing. Laxness wants answers from GOV before they make Billion dollar decisions.
also..
The SIFT plant in canada is not what is holding up forward progress.
The SIFT plant is a component to make "next generation battery grade lithium"
The current project is not dependent on the sift plant unless Laxness won't sign the JV because they don't trust SIFT results from canada and they want to generate their own numbers.

I am not sure I 100% agree with that. Once the SIFT plant gets to the facility, they will still have a competitive advantage both on quality of product and transportation costs to get their final product to customers. They shouldn't have an issue being able to sell all that they produce.
Unless there is something that I completely missed.

They will be as profitable but may take longer to take the lion share of the market

If foreign companies are allowed to dump cheap lithium in USA that will lower the price of lithium. Even if stlhf can sell 100% if the price is depressed it will affect profits.
I’m not saying this will happen. I hope it doesn’t. The CEO of Stlhf says he will have among the lowest production cost in the world. Also the tariffs may stay in place.
But I will feel much better after the JV is signed.

Considering the relative increases in global demand that we are looking at I don't think that is likely.
As you point out STLHF is supposed to have a cheaper extraction method and they have in place a good supply of source brine water for lithium extraction. Free trade isn't necessarily a panacea but in this case fewer trade barriers is likely to be helpful.

Good point.
Hopefully Stlhf will be able to out produce other facilities and at a cheaper operating expense and then undersell the competition.

Any news on this or we just getting hit due to the whole market slump? Getting dinged pretty good over the last couple days.

Just running with the market. Everything red. Been a gory week.

It helps that it is mined in America regardless where the head quarters are.

News of other lithium plays, news of alternative metal plays other than lithium for batteries of the future, JV delay, border not yet open and other places to put money while waiting on production to start.
And the market dip.
All things considered i think the share price has held up pretty well.

Some news from Standard Lithium, they have successfully produced 99.985% pure Lithium Carbonate. Industry standard for batter grade is only 99.5% pure, for reference.
Question for the smarter folks in the room: How much lithium will the Smackover Formation produce? Or, to phrase it a little better, how long might I have with SL being a major player?

I would think that PR should give us a bump this morning. We'll see.
ETA: My TD account shows that it's up .10 to 2.74 at 7:50 am. Didn't think it traded after hours?

3.88 million tons from what is currently leased.

I’m not seeing any AH trades but the bid is up to $2.82 so looking like a gap up at open.

Seeing $2.92 now
I think we should see mid 3s today since we’ve already been there.
Actually $4 is my guess

Sounds like 30+ years as opposed to 5 years, correct?
