Interesting read, thanks for posting.
My interpretation of this is that Albemarle is making a strategic play by saying the DLE is further down the road than it really is.
I think they are trying to manage supply in the market and keep lithium prices higher for the short term return on the La Negra plants.
I also think they are struggling with the patent side of the technology. My guess is they’re still trying to pinpoint a loophole (they are clearly hammering home that it is “absorption” based technology, that was a coached line) to see if they can negotiate around SLI’s IP without paying them.
If SLi’s patents are sound, this is a huge confidence boost for me. Albemarle is basically conceding that DLE is 100% the future for liquid extraction/Li production in the US.

I think it also highlights the importance of the SiFT plant when the talk about quality problems, not just the LiSTR plant that extracts the lithium.
Would they obtain separate patents for each process or is it all rolled into one?

I always thought they probably could have found another name for these plants haha.

what is the timeline before these test plants go fully scalable for large quantities of lithium? 1.5 - 2 years?

I know this isn’t rocket science but it depends on how much someone is willing to thro at it
From what I have seen on the YouTube plant tours, a larger buildout could be done relatively quickly. Supply of the material would be any hangout right now.

You ain't got to brag, baw. I'm already feeling pretty insecure about my measly 7K shares of SLi.

Not a measly number for most of us.

You need $250k in a brokerage account with fidelity. That could make things challenging.

So.. future lookin good still? Has the sentiment changed at all after yesterdays rollercoaster?
Posted on 8/12/21 at 2:32 pm to LChama
Future looks great imo. I’m surprised it’s running so fast without news to where we are now. The stock needs a few days of consolidation before it continues to grow. I’m very happy where it is now!

I had to trade diversity to get there. My "portfolio", if you could even call it that now, is down to 2 stocks. Risky, of course, but hopefully the juice will be worth the squeeze.
