You've posted here since 2004 and just bumped a 4 year old thread.

I’ll never be able to forget this thread.
I’m still hoping for that update.

They're telling you they can lower your payment and pay it off in the same time. Now how would that work? They aren't a charity.

They (the new lender) could pay it off immediately to save higher interest rates and finance it at a lower rate for him. They’d (the new lender) collect interest and he’d have a lower rate. People do this ALL the time with refinances. It’s not that hard to comprehend as a possibility.

$63,000 is certainly doable in 3 years if nothing crazy happened in OP's life.

Remember following this thread live.

He was like an addict. On the wagon, off the wagon.

If he'd have followed the advice given, he'd be debt free by now. I too wonder how he's doing.

Just a cursory glance at the recent post history shows that our OP here isn't one to part with nice things.

1) Pool and hot tub reboot
2) Woodworking hobby
3) Guitar junkie (revised: guitar addict)
4) Drinks alone at local watering hole $$$
5) Weekend trip just a couple months ago
6) Guitars... Is this the problem OP?
7) and he's mentioned a wife who likes to spend...I'm afraid this is all of America.

This was a high quality post.

This is spot on for how fricked up the average American thinks. In addition to these consumeristic citizens add whatever percent you think the entitlement crew. That’s a high number of fiscally reckless and irresponsible citizens in America. The , add it the immigrants in our country. We can’t come back from this point in our country. I just don’t see it happening without something major that we can’t imagine.

Get a signature loan for as much as possible.
Much lower interest rate than credit cards etc.

Can you work a second job?
Get higher paying job?

It's gonna take a multi facet approach.

Da frick? There are plenty of fun things to do that cost next to nothing.

Exactly. Every weekend I find something fun to do and I rarely spend more than $10 unless that something is grill food for the entire week but I save money by doing that.
