I have the sapphire reserve and my wife will soon getter preferred... can she transfer her points to me, so I can get the higher redemption value? (She got the reserve when I did 4 years ago for the 100,000 point bonus, so she’s due for a new bonus— unless she can get that one again)

Yes, I used to do this all the time.

Logged in to check some flights and saw this new card from United and Chase.
United Quest Card
80,000 miles with 5k spend in 3 months
20,000 miles with 10k spend in 6 months
$125 annual United credit
After 1 year, 5k miles for a flight booked with miles, redeemable twice annually

Bottom line
An all-new airline credit card that debuts with up to 100,000 bonus miles is very exciting news.
It’s extra interesting to me as a regular United flyer because of the unique perks — such as the annual $125 United credit and the two annual 5,000-mile awards that are worth $130 by TPG valuations.
Together, those two perks alone more than offset the card’s $250 annual fee on an ongoing basis. And in the first year, those up to 100,000 bonus United miles are clearly a headlining feature of the offer.

So, is there a way to check if a website/payment made is included in a reward category?
I have the CSR and of course you get the $300 travel credit. I'm booking a cabin via a website by the cabin provider and I'm wondering if there is a way to know that a particular website/booking location is included in a list of providers in a location for Chase travel rewards?
Anyone know?

Unless someone has booked with that business before and reported the merchant code, no you can't know in advance.

Thanks. I emailed the owner and she said they were registered in their state as a lodging business, so hopefully Chase had it coded that way, or I can convince them to include it, since it is travel.

I believe the CSR $300 travel credit was and still is expanded to work for dining out as well, so you can always burn it at restaurants.

Not restaurants. Grocery and convenience stores.
Through 6/30/21, gas station and grocery store purchases will also count towards earning your $300 Annual Travel Credit – and will both earn points.

Not sure, but I just take the cash back on my cards rather than trading the points for airline credits. Seemed the price basis was for converting points to plane tickets was always noticeably higher. Could always find cheaper tickets on skyscanner, google flights, etc.

Just got targeted ad in email to upgrade my AMEX Blue Cash everyday to AMEX Blue cash preferred with these terms:
- $95 annual fee waived first year
- $150 bonus after $1000 spent first 3 months
Seems like a no brainer at this point with no fee first year and the bonus.
Running the calculations on wife/I's spending even with the annual fee we'd more than pay for it through groceries and streaming services.
We spend $95/month on streaming services and about $200/month on groceries (if that seems super low for groceries it's because I had to take out costco/target/walmart since they dont qualify for the "grocery" category here).
So that roughly $300/mo @ 6% cash back which is $18 month or $216 a year in cash back easily beating that $95 fee. The $150 bonus early on is just nice gravy on top.

Yeah 3% but I get 4% already with costco citi card which is a free card
I use:
- Chase Freedom for 5% categories
- Costco Citi for Gas (4%), restaurants (3%) and travel through costco (3%), plus costco purchases (2%)
- AMEX Blue cash for groceries (6% now) and streaming services (6%)
- Capital One Venture (2x miles on everything) for everything outside of above

Don’t know if this has been mentioned yet but the Capital One SavorOne Rewards card is now offering:
3% unlimited cash back on dining, groceries, “popular” streaming services, and “entertainment”
$200 bonus after spending $500 in the first 3 months
Seems pretty dang good for a card with no annual fee

ThePointsGuy announced this morning that Amex Platinum is raising their annual fee up to $700 dollars
But you do get equinox and clear benefits….

I was going to cancel last year but the PayPal credits pushed me to keep it. Now I'll end up cancelling unless they offer a huge retention offer. But make sure not to cancel until your annual fee hits, and use all the credits new and old (airline, Saks, Clear, digital) before you do since it's still refundable for a month after it hits.

If you are getting the value out of it now, the extra $150 fee can be justified. $200 credit for fine hotels program isn’t bad but they need to be more flexible than booking with the hotel, not less. The Clear membership is nice but certainly not a requirement for most people yet.
I’ll probably keep it purely for the Centurion access at DEN.

They're getting rid of guest access for Centurion Lounge starting 2023 as well FYI. I'll rarely find good value with FHR but usually since I usually get those benefits at the big brand hotels through Platinum etc anyway.

I just got the Chase Sapphire Preferred and received 1,000 points (1,000$) or I can cash in at 1,250$ with travel booked through Chase. This is a bonus I could not pass up.

Interesting offer from Amex for old Amex Plat members...
25k points if you upgrade and they prorate your already paid annual fee from whichever card you have currently.
