As far as economy goes, you're better off paying cash to India. It's easy to find sub 700 fares to India due to high traffic and to Asia in general as well.

I've always wanted to go to India and Hyatt downgrading pretty much every hotel there, seemed like a good opportunity.

Now the harder part, convincing the wife she wants to go there.

I was looking at the downgrades in India. Most of those places you will probably not find yourself in. For a first timer in India, I'd recommend Jaipur and Udaipur. Then add Leh, Laddakh, Himachal Pradesh, Kerela if you have more time. None of those Hyatts are in any of those places. Either way, for a westerner, most 5 chain luxury properties are relatively "cheap." However, you want to step away from western chains and stay at some local hotels like the Oberoi and Taj to get a taste of what "real luxury" is. These hotels are built in actual palaces built for kings and queens. And they are committed to make you feel like kings and queens during your stay. This is still relatively affordable for a westerner I must add.

Is it worth switching over from Arrival+ to a CSP/Freedom combo?

Been looking to switch from Barclays after they downgraded all the perks last year, just haven't got around to it. Wanted to hear from some of you that have this card.

Just found out an expense that should have been CC was changed to check only

That $3k would have been helpful for my Ink sign up bonus

If you can't afford Oberoi or Taj, I think Trident is a nice alternative.

Btw Gene, Amerikop I believe is Indian so I'll keep my advice to stuff to specific things I think are worth a look.

One of my favorite encounters was at Connaught Place in Delhi. My wife has a sweet tooth, so we found this simple candy shop among the shops there. The man who owns it is like an Indian Willy Wonka. He has a very unique voice and genuine love of candy. I hope he and his shop are still there.

To be honest, India is a pipe dream. I am holding out hope that the wife wants an instagram photo with an elephant really really badly

Absolutely. I still believe old freedom is the way to go with the 5x categories. I am usually able to maximize most of those cats. I am listing some public offers below. (Mod: These are not referrals).

If you get CSP, then your freedom cashback becomes points, which are worth a lot more. If someone were to have only 2 cards, which are easy to get and understand, I would recommend these.

You can also look into new Freedom Unlimited. This is 1.5x everywhere and $150 (or 15,000 points) to start.

Best offers:

1) Old Freedom
2) CSP
3) Freedom Unlimited

I have an escrow that pays my homeowners insurance. What happens if I pay it with my CC before they cut their check?

Would be interested in taking some easy points

So I applied for Citi AA plat using my roommates invitation code. Changed the name and address to mine (moved out since then). Got the letter with bonus language and the bonus tracker. For ref: This is my 3rd Citi AA plat. I didn't receive any bonus on the 2nd one because it was right when the loophole was closed and I had received the bonus from the first one a few months before that. Next I'm going for the business 50K and gold 25K.

I got the citi AA world elite 6 m ago with 50K. Got offer in the mail and applied for 50K for citi AA business. Waiting for it to arrive this week. I'll end up with over 100K pts soon. Anything I'm missing or any trip that you recommend for these points? TIA.

Awesome. I love the AA plat mail invites. I've racked up so many AA points that I literally can't spend them fast enough. I have a fresh mailer sitting in my desk at home to use on my round of apps.

How do you get so many? The reason I got this one was because of my roommate. I've since moved out. So don't know how I will be able to get my hands on any more.

Stupid question - How do I access my Chase Ink/business online account? I have my normal Chase login but every time I login it does not show the Ink just the CSP. Card is now activated and in use.

Business accounts can't be accessed from personal logins and require a new separate login.

You can add the personal accounts to the business dashboard, yo ucan't add business to personal if that makes sense

I'm confused, what exactly does the AA card do?/Special

The 50k signup seems like a public signup on the website right now

50K AA miles. Ways to get it again and again. Used to be much easier, now a little hard

Did they not have a waiting period before getting the bonus again?

Yes they do. 24 months. But you can get it multiple times. That is what is so "special"

So you are able to rack up 50k bonuses on the same Citt AA Platinum account?
