I haven't done AMEX yet, somebody help me justify the $450 fee...
$400 in airfare or amazon gift cards
$100 Global Entry credit
Priority Pass
Centurion Lounge access
SPG gold (also equals delta crossover rewards)
Hilton Gold
National and Hertz status
AmEx offers
100K points in themselves are valued at $1,900-$2,000 on the low end making this a no brainer.
But..how are you doing on 5/24? If you are still under the threshold, maximize that. The AmEx 100K offer will always be there until you have any other AmEx cards.

I just applied for GE and paid me fee already. Any way to retro this?

Didn't think about it as $400. That makes it much better right off the bat. How does this amazon scheme work?

I've got one left but already have Ink+ and Sapphire. I probably need to cancel the Sapphire and reapply as I've had that one open for years.

That is what I would suggest you get before the AmEx 100K. In fact I would suggest you to do this sooner rather than later so you can go for the CSP - 1st, then follow up with the AmEx next.
Amazon GCs with AmEx airline fee credit:
1) Choose United airlines as your preferred airline
2) Download United MPX app on your phone
3) Use AmEx card to buy $100 Amazon GCs through the MPX app
AmEx codes it as an airline purchase and therefore refunds the fee. Got $600 so far this year.
Unfortunately, no way to retro the fee. Maybe get it for your gf/wife/family/friend

I have the platinum delta Amex but I don't get any snail mail offers for other Amex cards... Any way to get target offers for Amex? I want that 100k platinum bad

The 100K targeted is pretty much only sent to people who have never had an AmEx card before. Your only hope is to call in and say that you had received a targeted offer for 100K points a few weeks ago but you lost the mailer and you want to see if there is any way they can offer that to you still. A lot of times they will make a "one time exception" for you. AmEx bonuses are once per lifetime anyway and this is the only one that is impossible to generate online.

Remember when incognito tab could generate 100k offers? Those were the times

I actually don't remember a time when Plat 100K could be generated in incognito. Every other offer - yeah, but never this one. I may just have been oblivious of it.

Received a targeted CSP mailer. Card with 18k line on its way despite being way over 5/24.

How did you get CSP with 5/24? I didn't think targeted had anything to do with it.

Wow. Very nice and very lucky! Most people are getting denied even after using targeted mailers. Enjoy

I've read Chase Private Clients can get around it. Haven't really heard of other ways.

Thanks for the info!
One other question... Is there a waiting period for reapplying for CSP after cancelling?
And another snafu... I added myself as an AU to fiancées CSP before I knew that counted against 5/24... Is that going to burn my signup bonus eligibility even though I have 1/24 left?
Wish I knew the AU gimme was a waste...

Ok, that was 2 questions.

Yes, AU will count against 5/24.
You could close CSP, cancel AU and, then call chase in a week to have the AU account removed from your credit report. They do this automatically, but this will ensure that it has actually happened. If it hasn't then call the credit bureau to remove and they will. In another couple of weeks, apply for the CSP and hopefully you'll get it.

DOC had an article about 5/24 about a month ago and it mentioned people were getting around it with targeted mailers, so I went for it.

Nice. I'd like to get a targeted mailer. Guess I should be happy I was able to get United 55k for the second time right before they changed it for that card.

I got the Chase Freedom offer yesterday. Was thinking of doing it (would like the 0% APR for 15 months and $175 rebate to buy furniture with).
But then I got the Sapphire invitation today.
I've already hit 5/24 so I was glad to get invites.
Wondering if I could get approved for both cards. I already have Chase Disney and Chase Hyatt (just got that one).
Not sure how many more cards I will get approved for.

If you shop at Costco or Sams, that 5% back with freedom for the rest of the year is nice. (Limit on $1500 per quarter)
But if you have travel plans, 55k UR is nice too
Like I mentioned earlier, I'm at about 11/24 and I was instantly approved. I would go for it and make sure to combine the credit pull, applying to the one you want most first.

Sams doesn't accept Visa so how can it be used for the 5% back?
