My dates are usually very inflexible and I can't book all that far out, so that could be my issue
My wife always come in late with the pretty exacting dates. Luckily, its exact in days off, not particularly the actual dates, so I can move a vacation 2 days one way or the other.
This still caused me days of sleepless nights while booking our honeymoon.
From now on, I'll just see whatever destination pops up and see if that works for her. That will help a lot.

Just an update on my prestige sign up bonus. Now looking like I'll get $4000 worth of value out of before (potentially) canceling next year.
About $1000 from points. $500 airline credit. $2500 of golf (6 rounds, 5 being at $500 courses, and one unsure).
Not a bad sign up bonus.

Are there any cash back cards that give a bonus on spending thresholds?
ETA: Is Amex the only carrier that allows customization of labels on the credit statements? Do any other cards allow this?

Nice. I've gotten the $500 credit, $100 Global Entry, whatever value you want to assign for Priority Pass which has been great, and I haven't used the TY points yet. I need to go play golf at minimum to bring the return up and finally get back on the course. Still will likely cancel as I have too many other cards right now. In a few years I may get it again.

Were we supposed to get the 10% chase checking bonus for Freedom card holders this year, or was that eliminated EOY 2014?

Best time to apply for travel card if November according to this article
Posted on 4/5/16 at 6:09 pm to Jimmy2shoes
I am looking to book a trip to London at the end of the year. It will cost around $3k for flight and hotel. I've already got the Chase Sapphire and Freedom. Any tips to help maximize this large purchase?

If you have not hit the min spend on your CSP - then use that obviously. If you don't want to apply for any new cards, then use CSP.
Otherwise get:
1) Citi Prestige - 4th night free. 3x on travel. 50K points after 3K spend
2) Ink 2X on Hotels. 60K points after 5K spend.
3) AmEx gold. Find the 50K offer. 3x on travel
If you want to go for all chase cards first, and value Chase UR then go for Ink. If you don't care about getting more than 5 cards anyway, go for Prestige.
Try to book directly on Hotel or Airline website through cashback portal like ebates to get a decent cash back on your expenses on top of any credit card points.
Be aware of all hotel promotions running right now to sign up for them and maximize amount of points received.

I'd love to stay with Chase but I don't have a business for Ink. I know, I'm low class. My initial thought was to do something I can combine my points from UR with.

You and I both I guess. I don't have a business either. But I have the Ink. And there are many many like me. You don't need a business to have a small business card. Just say you are a sole proprietor and say you retail online if you have ever sold something on Amazon/Ebay/CL. Use your SSN instead of EIN.

I figured I'd have to submit some proof a business
. I'll probably go with the Ink then. I hate that I cashed out all the points from my other card, but it did help me buy a house.

Dayum where did you play? I'm planning on using one round at TPC Craig Ranch ($179 I think) near Dallas and one or two in Denver.

$85 for $100 gift card at Staples.
Resell at $84.50
850 points for a $1.00 with Ink card. Plus I'm still working on min spend.

Made my own thread but I figured I would ask here as well
I have been receiving a promotional offer for the Citi American Airlines card that gives $50,000 bonus miles for spending $3,000 within the first three months. This would be easily attainable and me and my wife would like to take a vacation around labor day. The rewards could potentially cover the cost of flying.
My question of course is this: Is it worth the hit on my credit to open a new account just to get a free flight? My current credit score is around a 790 so I'm on solid ground. I currently use two cards: one Discover that I've had since college and use as my primary spending card to earn cashback and a Capital One mastercard that I pretty much only use as a backup for places that don't accept discover.
I always pay my balance off at the end of the month and never pay interest.

Question, I've had the Barclaycard Arrival + for close to two months now. I put a balance transfer of $3K onto the card and have charged probably close to $1,500.
To get the 40K miles, I believe I need to spend $4,000 total within the first three months. All I'm wondering is to claim those miles, does the balance have to be totally paid off, or will it reward the miles at the end of the third billing cycle?

So my refinance funds this weekend and I'll be free to open up some cards.
I get married in July and should have some $10-15k in spending. How do I make the best use of this? ($4-6k misc and ~$8k restaurant)
My fiancee is on board and has only 1 new card in 24 months
I will have 2 new cards in 24 months
Let's do this

Do you already have the csp? Also, where do you want to go for your honeymoon?
If you don't have the CSP, then that seems to be like a no brainer because you have so much restaurant expenses coming up. Just make sure you and your wife stagger your apps so one can refer the other and get that extra 10K. For the first one, it would be nice if you found an app link to the CSP in this thread to give them a kick back. I know I and cmlsu have some. Maybe a couple others.
So just with 2 CSPs y'all will have 136K URs. After that you could go for either the Ink (i posed about this one above), or each of y'all could go for the Hyatt and IHG cards to get. Hyatt will give each of yall 2 free nights at any hyatt that you can combine for a total of 4 nights for a stay for your honeymoon. But remember - so will the ink. And you can do the same thing with the ink with the referrals for extra 10K.
Balance transfer will not count. You just need to spend, you will get the points even if you have a balance (but keep in mind the repercussions of having a balance on your card)
