I wonder if the credit card companies monitor Flyertalk and the like.
Ofcourse. Especially the idiot blogs who keep killing everything. You think banks don't monitor affiliates they are paying millions to?

After reading up on several pages on this page, you all seem to know entirely more than I do about credit cards. I would like to see if any of yall have some good advice.
I recently graduated and I'm looking into getting a rewards card, and wondering what my timeframe/best available routes to go. I applied for SW card in June, but was denied because of lack of credit. Afterwards I went to Regions, which is where I bank, and was able to get a secured credit card which I have used over the last 6ish months. When should I try applying to Chase with SW again, or are there better available rewards cards I should seek out. Thanks for any and all advice, much appreciated

I would strongly suggest you to not go for the premium credit cards yet.
Go for the Chase Freedom to start off. In another 6 months, you should be good to go for some of the better cards while already getting a decent start on accruing in one of the top programs.

I saw that.
Did you guys see it on flyertalk? I haven't been on there in a while. I will have to start hitting up the gold and business cards myself now.

Yup, for those who are reading.
Chase is like a country club. Once you get your first in on a card like Freedom, 6 months later they let you bang the Club President's young hot wife.
It's just how they operate.

What Ameri said. Chase has new rules in effect beginning last spring. You only get 5 in 24 months so plan accordingly. For a new grad I think something like a Freedom would be a great start and then when you have the profile pair it with a Sapphire Preferred so you can transfer points out to partners. There is also an Amex card or two that could be beneficial to you.

Yeah, it's being reported there and on Reddit.

Yeah I read it first a couple days ago on Reddit.
Personally, I would limit number of any other cards until you have all the chase you want. That's why I suggest freedom or sapphire depending on profile
Btw you would realise by now I'm sure that getting denied for SW in June was actually a blessing in disguise

Just got welcome letter on Citi plat. No bonus. terrible terrible news. Waste of a pull.
Should've just gone with my gut with the business card. Can't believe I missed the train by that much. Pretty disappointing

Teddy have you gotten citi gold bonus yet? Getting close to march and another monthly fee I'd like to avoid.

No man, it's bullshite.
When/if I hit $60 in I'm going to hound the shite out of them

I haven't gotten mine yet either although I think I am a month or so behind you guys in the queue. Read on FT that they aren't letting new accounts fund with a credit card any more. What is the world coming to????

2016 is the killing fields.

What are you guys doing with your no bonus citi AA plat cards then?
Posted on 2/20/16 at 11:20 am to AmeriKop45
Wait until you get the card and link it to your account. Then click on the AA link and see if you have the tracker to get the bonus. That's the real determination.
Posted on 2/20/16 at 11:40 am to VABuckeye
Probably won't have the tracker. Yet to see anyone that had the no bonus language and had an active tracker. Will update though.

Yeah, probably just hopeful thing. I like the people in that thread who are like hey why don't we call Citibank and ask them why the loophole isn't working?

Anyone had any experience with Hilton Diamond/Gold 2nd guest free benefit? Looking to book an All Inclusive which jacks up the price when I say 2 adults as compared to 1. Would the benefit play in here? I can't call and book through diamond desk as I'll be booking with Citi Prestige 4th night free

Resort fee will be per person. That will raise your daily rate. That's my guess. You still to pay the resort fee.
