I bought in at 10.8. Hopefully this isn’t another GME for me.

So I’m supposed to trust that Namibia and Botswana will follow the rule of law, respect property rights, and not generally go full retard with greed to frick this up assuming they actually find significant oil? I’ll pass.

Another hit piece on RECAF by short interest, Viceroy.
I recouped my initial investment on this and am hanging on to 675 shares in case it moons. I make no pretension as to whether or not this stock is a pump and dump, but I always find this kind of shite rich…
Good thing we have operations like Viceroy out there to protect us plebeians from all that mean corporate greed.

JUNE 24, 2021 – Viceroy Research is short Reconnaissance Energy Africa Ltd (TSXV:RECO), a junior oil miner specializing in stock promotion and insider enrichment. RECO’s mining assets are not highly speculative: they are borderline imaginary. Despite a CAD ~2bn market cap, RECO has a near-zero chance of finding any asset of value in their exploration site, and an even lower chance to capitalize on any find. RECO management (including shadow directors we identify) have a long and checkered history of bribery and corporate and environmental scandals. More recently, RECO have formally engaged a Namibian businessman who has been implicated in dozens of bribery investigations.

Viceroy Research are an investigative financial research group. As global markets become increasingly opaque and complex – and traditional gatekeepers and safeguards often compromised – investors and shareholders are at greater risk than ever of being misled or uninformed by public companies and their promoters and sponsors. Our mission is to sift fact from fiction and encourage greater management accountability through transparency in reporting and disclosure by public companies and overall improve the quality of global capital markets.

I'd like to hear from the companies stateside that are analyzing all the samples and stuff from the first well.

Got me another 500 shares at $9. That’s 3000 shares now at a $6.12 average. In the words of Al Bundy…Let’s rock

I picked up some but there is too much risk in this one for me to buy big, especially at these prices.

Recafs response....
"The portion of the short seller's report that addresses the topics described above is riddled with inaccuracies. It displays an ignorance of the geology of Southern Africa in general and Namibia in particular. The results of the 6-2 and 6-1 stratigraphic test wells are misrepresented by the short seller, suggesting there is 'no oil', when in fact results from both wells were much more successful than anticipated, and firmly prove the presence of a working petroleum system. It overstates seismic acquisition costs by over 500%. It has misrepresented the relinquishment provisions of the Petroleum Agreement. Incredibly, it suggests that ReconAfrica is nearly bankrupt, when in fact ReconAfrica has over CDN $63,000,000 of cash reserves, access to additional funds through capital markets and joint venture optionality to pursue its operations.
The short seller either lacks the knowledge and experience to assess these matters, or is intentionally distorting the publicly disclosed facts, or both."
It goes on a little bit more.

Yea I picked up some more first thing this morning.

Yeah, recaf is the only company I've seen over the last few years that really comes back hard against short seller allegations. It gives me hope that this company and its findings are legit.

If this stair steps down again today I will be taking some profit off the table.
Roll it into SLI.
