CNBC ranking as best state for business

Not surprised that Texas was number one based on some recent developments.
They did take a moment to say this happens despite an inadaquate public school system that ranks 40th in the country and spends less than $9k per student, 4th lowest in USA. I was sort of surprised to hear all that, especially with how it seems to me that TD is obsessed with how schools are better in Texas than LA.

I'd be interested to see how they determined the school system to be inadequate. Spending per student shouldn't be a measuring stick.

Abbot is on right now, defending education. He says Texas is 5th in the country in graduation rates.

Spending per student is a very acceptable measure based on evidence that for the most part in correlates to better student performances in other measurables.
I agree it shouldn’t be the only one, and CNBC didn’t say it was they just used that to point out one of the reasons they have Texas as 40th. In a day where it’s sometimes difficult to compare two places that is one metric that is pretty easy to point out.

People around here talk about moving to Katy, Frisco, Coppell, Westlake, and the like where the schools are great and often nationally ranked. They're not moving to the valley or inner city Houston to raise a family.

What evidence? No study has shown this either in US or globally.

Having highly educated and involved parents >>>>>>>> spending per student.
