Slim. Some are complaining about their retirement going down in the past year or not seeing the growth they are us too. You cannot have all growth in these things. Some years will be down years, some will be not soo great years, other years will be awesome years. People just like to complain.

Can't touch it for almost 30 years anyway...

Are you planning on selling and moving? Are you in default? Then you can wait this out too.

It will get better, it always has.

People don't go into recession, you dumbass, and the thread was about the state of the U.S. economy, not anecdotal bullshite. Go emote somewhere else

Go frick yourself. Your post was about the god damned future of the US economy, go predict somewhere else. And you linked some stupid website where you can bet on things as varied as the wether and the presidental candidates.

Well, my THREAD was about the god damned future of the U.S. economy, and your post was about your own stupid trivial bullshite, and I quote from your first post in this thread, "Frankly, these things [my own personal bullshite] are much more important to me than the US economy." You're the one who looks stupid here.

I'm sure everyone has been impressed by your personal story, though. Hey, why don't you tell us about the last time you got sick? Do you have a virus to tell us about? Any scars from the hospital maybe? A special case that the doctor's said "he's never seen anything like" before? How about some fishing stories of yours?

fig.

Oh, and by the way, the prediction market contract for 2008, which is based on about 50k trades that people are placing with their own damn money, just dropped about 10%...

US Economy in Recession Contracts
Recession during 2008, Vol = 49983, Bid = 21.1, Ask = 25.0, Last = 22.0
Recession during 2009, Vol = 57, Bid = 58.0, Ask = 59.0, Last = 60.0

The above was just for you, you self-absorbed assclown.

You should change your handle to Dick Fenton.

It would be more fitting of your online persona.

I love the fact that you are posting a prediction for 2009 based on 57 trades people are placing their own damned money on...looks like a vibrant marketplace...I'm sure you and the other homos trading there are a bundle of joy to be around.

How much money do you have in play there Dick?

no offense, but you must have a shitty house.

ETA: unless you live in the sticks. but i feel your pain. luckily, all the poeople who bought in the burbs are moving into neighborhoods like mine (Druid Hills/Fernbank/Morningside/Highlands) and keeping inventory low. My value in Montana hasn't risen in the past year, but comps seem to have it in the black.

If you bought in the burbs or in jacked up area, you're definitely feeling it bad.

It's plenty for my family..small 3 bdrm ranch in an Eastern suburb of Atlanta....not the greatest place, but cheap and safe.

Don't want to "emote" here too much, might draw the ire of Dick Fenton. But yeah, it's "in the sticks". First home.

i've made my house into a commune so i can afford it. i've got two in-law suites (with non-inlaws in em) that pays what would be my entire mortgage had i not done some creative finance when i subdivided my lot.

Well I appreciate the dialogue, especially in Dick's thread..anything to hijack it and piss him off a little more. I think I'll make it my habit to frick up his discussions with anecdotal "emoting".
Should be fun to read the ridiculous vulgarities he comes up with in response.
