I am currently paying 4K dollars a year for 2 vehicles - tahoe and highlander.

I am deemed high risk with a couple DWIs in my twenties.

I got one when i was 20, and second when i was 26 I think. I have been out of the court system for at least 6 years.

Anyways, will i be expected to always pay these high rates for the rest of my life? Or does 4K a year seem right? I have been told by friends they pay about 500 a year or so.

My wife and I pay about $200/mo for our two cars with USAA.

That seems extremely low. Maybe they have bare bones coverage.

~$220 per month for a 2015 Camry with State Farm. It has gone up ~$50 per month over the last two 6 month policies.

Have 2 bad wrecks on my record one in 2011 and one in 2015.

I turn 25 next year so I hope the price goes down a bit.

Someone told me getting the DWI at 26 screwed me. Apparently when someone turns 25, the get a clean slate or something

Auto insurance has gotten more competitive in recent years. Check competitors and prices every year. Show no loyalty.

I showed loyalty to SF for decades only for them to raise rates out of reach- I was shocked when I got comparisons - saved over 2K a year for the family and still with a major insurer

4K a year for two vehicles with a dwi within the last 10 years is a damn good premium. Quit fricking drinking and driving.

Oh wow. 'A couple of DWIs' in his past?

The OP is a dumb motherfricker. I'll reiterate this advice to the OP:

By the way, I'm at $1,028/6 months for two new vehicles with 100/300/100, 100/300 UM, 500 collision, 250 comprehensive, towing, and rental.

If you have good credit and a clean driving history, you will get a great rate.

Without stating your coverages and policy limits, this info is about as useful as asking "How much did you pay for your vehicle?" without any info on what type of vehicle.

*I pay $2100/yr on 2 vehicles (2004 & 2015 Tahoes) - 250/500 w/ UM, and $1MM umbrella w/ UM, $500 deductibles on collision and comprehensive.

$1200 every six months for 2017 4 runner and 2017 Camry. It was cheaper but my wife got in a wreck and made a claim. We’re both in our upper 30’s.
