Also get $700 cash card from Costco as executive member bringing price before TT&L to $45,523 on 2017 Tahoe LT. Seems like solid deal but I haven’t bought car in almost decade. Thoughts?

Not a terrible deal, and a reasonable doc fee. Here’s one listed for just as cheap. Before negotiating. LINK The fine print includes many specific rebates. I’d call their internet sales person and offer $42,500 to see where they are on it. If it has the options you want.

There are a bunch listed on cars.com for under $48k. (Search 2017 Tahoe lt and sort by lowest price, within however far you’re willing to drive. I do 500 miles).

Did that, they told me pound sand. That one pictured has over 7k miles so assuming it’s demo which may have more room on $ being used, it’s just wrong color inside and out and 1012 miles away. This deal is about 4 hours round trip, which is about as far as I’m going unless savings are $1k or more and car is exactly what she wants

Serious question, why pay 45k plus for a Chevrolet?

look up Chevy shake, Chevy torque convertor problems, and Chevy ac problems before you drop 45k+ on a gm product. my buddy would burn his Tahoe right now if it was not illegal.

We have a 2010 Traverse. It’s arguably been the best/most reliable car we’ve ever owned. I did have A/C issue cost me $600 but other than tuneup/tires/brakes/oil changes no maintenance issues in 8 years and 150k miles.

That’s what I get for posting before coffee. My thesis is just to shop around far & wide and not be afraid to low ball. Looks like you have that covered. Good luck with it!

Because that's what they cost.

I have 240k on a suburban and absolutely love it. Looking to trade in for another one now.

Buy a current pricing report from fighting chance.com to get real invoice pricing on the specific model you want. I think 1 model is $39 or so, maybe $60 for 2 models.

He'll also give you a specific market report for the model, the manufacturer and YTD trending sales, plus a real strategy to follow on when to buy.

I've called the main number and the owner has answered the phone. We talked for about 45 minutes and I learned everything I ever wanted to know about the retail auto market.

Essentially, every "invoice" price you see on the internet is cultivated by dealers and manufacturers to hide the real cost per vehicle. Consumer Reports, KBB, TrueCar, Costco et al are all run by dealers and you cannot use any of them to get real cost figures. There's a lot more room to negotiate than 7~10% difference between MSRP and invoice on new cars.

The $40 you spend on the report will save you another $1,500+.

I bought a new 2015 Tahoe LT about 3 years ago. This is a good price.

i'd buy a 2016 CPO tahoe instead. save the $10k and get 2 years of warranty, which should catch any major unforeseen issues. i have a 15. i had the a/c issue, and they replaced it for free.

Got it down to 45,023. 2016 CPO with roughly 30,000-50,000 miles are all around 40k. Got the exact color (exterior and interior) and packages (2nd row captains) she wanted, full manufacturers warranty for extra 5k. Based on overall investment, extra $ was easily justified to us.
