Accounts. Wtf is this?

My new accounts have zero history in them. Highly annoying and not sure if I’ll be able to access my old checking history easily. Between this, Bill pay, and then changing credit card statement dates every month I am about to leave capital one. Why are they making all these sudden changes?

Did you have a lot of transfers out of your savings? I know Chase got me when I was young and took money out multiple times a month but they just converted the savings to a checking. Never touched the original checking.

They don't want to be in the bank business anymore. Seems like they are doing their best to drive people away to go back to just a credit card company.

That’s a Wells Fargo type move if true. I’d be pissed and starting to look elsewhere.

FWIW...Same thing happened to me a few months ago. I was pissed too. I called them and it ended up not being an issue. The only thing that actually changed was the routing #. The bank account # stays the same. In fact, the old routing # still works and they said it would continue to work going forward. They were attempting to standardize routing numbers or something. I wasn't a fan of it initially, and I'm still pissed they did it without forewarning, but it hasn't created any problems for me.

I banked with Florida Parishes Bank growing up in Hammond. They were acquired by The First a few years ago but I still use them for almost everything even though I live in California now. I keep a small Chase checking just in case I need to be able to go get something done in person.

They have a branch in Metairie but any local bank will provide better customer service if you establish that relationship with them. The other day I called The First and the lady who usually handles my accounts answered their main line because she was helping at the drive through. Didn't need to answer any questions to prove who I was, she recognized me by voice. Wrote down what I needed and called me back about an hour later telling me it was done.

You can run, but can't hide.

Seems all banks give us grief these days.

They've been running a $400 bonus offer for opening a new account lately. I just set one up to take advantage (don't intend to actually use it, but I'll take a free $400).
