Capital One has been closing branches or converting them to ATM-only, for a while.

I just got a letter from them announcing that the main branch in downtown Shreveport, the anchor tenant in a 21-story building, is "closing for good" in April. I hear there was a similar letter issued for the Greenwood Road branch.

Have any of you received word of other closings?

I like their online banking and app, and their money markets and CDs pay decent rates compared to others, but I also like having a branch where I can talk to an American human instead of the uninteligible foreigner I got last time I called their customer service.

Thinking of switching after more than 30 years with Hibernia and then Cap One after the merger. Maybe Regions, which has a few nearby branches. What a PITA.

I’ve been using capital one for several years and never had a problem, but I will switch if they close branches around me.

They are closing a branch in Baton Rouge on Bluebonnet near Burbank. Received a letter about it yesterday.

You mean people didn’t want a bank branch that was also a cafe?? I’m shocked.

That's the 2nd big downtown Shreveport branch in the last year or so- Chase was the first.

Sucks because that is the branch I used the ATM for. Lived by it for 7 years and never went inside.

Might be a reason why its closing.

They closed 2 of the 3 in Monroe / West Monroe last year. Sold the properties, buildings were torn down and now have drive thru car washes at both locations.
