Hoping to get feedback on your experience leasing your land to a solar developer. Seems like I'm seeing more and more stories about solar farms popping up - the least of which is the one near Port Allen. Thanks in advance...

Make sure they cut down all of the trees and pull up all of the grass on your land before you let them set those panels up.

LINK

This actually could be quite beneficial for land that has poor soil, access, or other issues eliminating row crop

Beneficial to be near the substation or main feed lines, cost to tie in can significantly reduce your revenue.

Yea. Figure that is key.

But if you have 400 acres, setting panels on 100 pays the note and you can farm the rest. Would be nice way to buy large tracts without incurring costs to self

In addition to optimal sun exposure, ... If you want to be considered as an optimal site, you must have two pieces of critical infrastructure to command attention.

First, you must be near a power substation to interconnect with. Less than a mile away, with no railroad crossings or other impediments between.

Second, fiber optic cable splice point within 2 miles ....

These two infrastructure pieces are becoming table stakes for solar sites ....just the way it is ....
