Buying a car - ideas needed

Got a new purchase lined up and the price is negotiated. Usually I'd ask the dealer to throw in some free oil changes, tire rotations, etc., before signing but this dealer is 2+ hours away, so it makes no sense to go there for an oil change.

What other things would you ask for to sweeten the pot? I thought about window tinting, maybe an extra accessory or two. Any ideas?

Man, if you're already good with the price you're getting just call it a day.

Let me rephrase. I'm pretty certain this dealer includes some free maintenance with their standard dealer fees. If I can't use the free maintenance, what are some other things I could ask for as a substitute.

Ahhhh.
Keep in mind that the free maintenance can generate revenue for them, while other things wouldn't.
Tinted windows is a good one.

If they see that you drive 2hours to get the deal, what incentive do they have to throw in more free shite?

Are you in LA? and the dealer? Not all states have the same regs on tinted glass.

Because I haven't driven there to put pen to paper yet...

But that's besides the point. If they tell me no, then whatever. But might as well try. Point of the thread is wanting ideas of add-ons that others may have negotiated on their purchases. Haven't bought a car in 15 years, so I'm not up to date on what sorts of features you could possibly ask for.

Oh and I should clarify: I wouldn't say I'm "good with the price". Unfortunately the particular car I'm buying is in high demand and low supply (new model and plants shut down for covid), so it's hard to find and dealers aren't budging on the price. I picked this dealer because they weren't jacking it up over msrp.

So it's not like I've haggled with them, whittled down the price, and now I'm going back to the well asking for more. I haven't asked much of them at all.

It's been my experience that they're more willing to throw in floor mats or something than to lower asking price. So since i haven't haggled on price and I'm probably being charged for maintenance I can't use, I don't see what's wrong asking to throw me a bone or two.

Do you negotiate at Walmart when they are make 40% on your purchases? If your happy with the price, move on and don't be a dick!

Hard to say since we don't know what is already included. Off the top of my head I would say pinstripe, tinted windows, door guards, etc.

Close, the Telluride.

And to the poster asking if I haggle at Walmart that's a ridiculous comparison. I hate haggling, I'm not that type of personality. But buying a car isn't like buying toothpaste. The dealer would be more than happy to screw me over. Had a dealer in Texas who was marking up Tellurides by $17k. And I'm a dick for asking for floor mats, lmao.

Does screwing you involve listing the vehicle at a price that has you willing to drive 120 minutes one way?

So you saw this one. Now you want them to contact some 3rd party baws to "tint" for you.. you know to thank them for selling this Telluride at a fair price in the first place.

Your local dealers marking up "17k" but you have found a great deal and want that tint.

They'll see your DL and be like "this kid's license is from this town?? He just drove 2 hours to buy this Kia... do we cave into his demands about finding him some tin and mudguards or tell him to go kick rocks and see if his credit score can even buy the thing?"

All this for a g'damn unibody vehicle.

They usually include maintenance because it’s a way to get you back in the dealership for service. It keeps you on their books, and gives them a chance to sell you various things, whether it’s additional services, repairs, or accessories.

In addition, extra accessories/services are typically included as a way to encourage the buyer to not walk. They don’t want to risk losing the sale. On a Telluride, this risk is currently minuscule. They’re not going to be encouraged/threatened by you walking out on a sale, they’ll just sell to the next guy in line.
