Meh. I’m good with a used 2010 Maserati gran turismo for 45k.

We had the same issue deciding between the xc60 and xc90. We went with the 90 and are very happy we did.

I went from a small car to a huge truck, and I’m so glad I did.

There is nothing worse than needing a truck to haul/carry something big in, and not having one.

My wife has a 17 x5 $72k sticker, paid 66k. Now has 22k and KBb trade is 35-37k.

Dayum, that is a serious hit!! I parked behind a new X5 yesterday with a tag that read "GRRWLR". I knew I was paying way too much for craft beer at that place.

I'm looking for a 911 GT3, but I fully agree with your thinking. For a weekend or track car, I'd look for something slightly used, with low miles, a good service record and I'm perfectly wiling to let some other sucker take it in the shorts with the depreciation - and these types of cars do depreciate as you're looking at them setting in your garage. I say that because I've (once upon a time) been the sucker who took it in the shorts buying a new luxury vehicle.

Side note: whenever I see a Maserati GT or an Aston Martin DB7, I curse Jaguar for dropping the ball on GT cars. Hope you snag that Maserati when the time is right.

As for the OP, easy enough question: which one best fits your family's needs?

Here's a comparison of the two:

BWM X3 vs. X5

Does Bigger Mean Better?

While the X3 has limitations when it comes to utility, we don't find it particularly small or lacking in luxury. Buyers who don't need the X5's extra space will be rewarded with easier maneuverability and standard four-cylinder efficiency.

Our Verdict: BMW X3

The latest X3 makes more sense for all but the largest families.
