You get the X3 and you’ll wish you had more leg room.

You get the X5 and you’ll wish you had the payments of an X3.

Life’s funny like that.

Be careful if depreciation is important to you. Those vehicles are worth half of sticker in 2 years. My wife has a 17 x5 $72k sticker, paid 66k. Now has 22k and KBb trade is 35-37k.

If this was his concern he probably would be asking about a highlander vs a rav4

2019 is a new model which exacerbates the depreciation on your older generation ‘17.

If any of you are tall I would recommend the X5 over the X3.

Be a baller and get the X7

Or be a bigger baller and get an M5. Seriously, I don't understand people (especially women) who just have to drive SUVs when they don't really need to

it's much easier and cheaper to drive a sedan or coupe. But, I have 2 kids in rear facing car seats, and its significantly more convenient to drive an SUV at this point in time. I suspect most SUV drivers do it out of necessity as well.

just like trucks, this is not true for "most." A lot, yes. Not most.

Have to disagree. If you have a small to medium sized suv they're about the same price point. And you have better vision with extra elevation.

SUVs are slightly more expensive than their sedan equivalents, but I wasn’t only talking about msrp. I was referring to gas, wear and tear items, etc. I believe insurance is more also. Maneuvering around a tight parking lot is easier in a smaller car.

I’m not advocating against SUV’s at all, the pros far outweigh the cons. My point was that if I didn’t have a need for one, I’d be in a sedan for the reasons I mentioned.

Buy his wife’s x5. But setiously they depreciate like crazy but are good looking, fairly reliable vehicles with outstanding power trains.
