It’s all a bullshite sham propagated by greed. It won’t end well. Downvote away, but digital bits don’t have value if the governments decide to say that they don’t.

Then people will move about the globe where they can trade peer to peer without such hardship

Global competitiveness is about to be wide arse open if the US does something stupid

You're right, but it is still the future.

Who the frick is we? Dude articles are coming out every day about regulation. Look at this article from Financial Times today: LINK

Look I don't really like seeing crypto get crushed because I'm heavy in tech and a lot of investors have their hands in both and they are closely linked, but no one can explain why this holy grail of a "currency" is so expensive other than people think it should be expensive.

Seriously. But at least we're getting fricked at a steady percentage each year. Well we were. MMT may be the cliff we never climb back up.

Short sighted, but go with whatever makes you feel good about your investment decisions.

Which digital currency is the future? At this point everyone is guessing, and most will guess wrong.

There's an equally possible chance that another form of currency will come out in the next few years and revolutionize the idea of payment systems or currency and BTC will drop back to a blip in history.

Bro, BTC has been around for 13 years and made it all this way with no FED or outside monetary policy.

That doesn’t change the fact that BTC has never seen a bear market, or how it will perform in the conditions.

They don't get it. Not to mention, who knows what type of fallout we see from the financial frickery of the last couple years. I almost feel like we're looking at a financial singularity. We have the convergence of modern monetary theory and debt spending at a level we have never seen, coupled with large amount of welfare checks that obviously went into the boom that brought BTC from below 10k to almost 70k. BTC bros keep saying "we've seen this before" but it's so oversimplified that way. We've never seen this before.

Over what value? Curious how to value crypto (no intrinsic value) and, therefore, what is the right value.

Learn me.

I know you weren't talking to me but I think we would know much better what the value of BTC would be when its primary function is currency is secondary function is an investment and I don't believe we're anywhere near reaching that point.

Metcalfe’s Law is a starting point to coming up with a proper valuation of the network (and therefore the market cap)

It’s a basic concept that says any network’s valuation is proportional to the number of interconnections within it, which is almost exactly the number of users participating in the network squared. The network needs to have attractive enough properties beyond just financial gains to get people to buy in and stay in, but if it can accomplish that the network valuation should see parabolic growth versus the number of participants

It’s hard for Americans to see the true value in crypto because we have a pretty easy life here.

There are billions around the world where crypto solves a lot of problems not only for individuals, but for governments.
