145 Million trades today.

Here is a couple of articles on it.

quote:

TORONTO, Feb. 18, 2021 /CNW/ - Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) today announced the world's first bitcoin exchange traded fund (ETF), Purpose Bitcoin ETF, began trading under the symbols TSX:BTCC.B (Canadian dollar denominated ETF non-currency hedged units) and TSX:BTCC.U (U.S. dollar denominated ETF non-currency hedged units).

Purpose Bitcoin ETF is the first direct custody bitcoin ETF in the world. It's designed to provide investors with exposure to the leading cryptocurrency by investing directly in physically settled bitcoin.

To celebrate this milestone, Som Seif, Founder & CEO, Purpose Investments, and the Purpose Investments team will virtually close the market tomorrow, February 19, 2021.

not necessarily. People already don't save. For a lot of people who do save, it's via retirement accounts. And you just can't buy BTC in those.
I have some pretty good flexibility on what I can put my 401k in (stocks, etfs, mutual funds), but even for me none of the currently available BTC backdoors are available.

Buying bitcoin in a tax sheltered account...or for people that don't want to sign up for new accounts on crypto exchanges.

I feel like BTC ETFs are bullish for Bitcoin short term but long term hurt the idea of scarcity that so drives the valuation of the asset class.

Bitcoin ETFs do nothing to the scarcity of the coin

Yeah I think I’m going to rescind that comment.

Personally other than for tax advantaged accounts, I don’t see the value in having the ETF over actual coins you can spend though

Have you looked into BLOK ETF? That was my entry into Blockchain and it's been pretty good to me without the huge swings of crypto.
