I’ve been with Capital One 360 (formerly ING) since 2006 but I’m ready to switch to one with a higher interest rate. I’m currently earning 1%.
What is the best trustworthy online savings account that the board can recommend?

Capital One 360 Money Market offers 2% if your balance is above 10k. That would be your least-hassle option since you already have a cap one account.

All my other accounts were with 360 so I put mine in their money market account. The ease of moving the money around and having it all in one spot was worth forfeiting a few 1/10ths of a percent.

I’ve had my eye on discover because they’re reputable and I’m comfortable with them. I hate Citi Bank so I refuse to do business with them and the others offer higher rates but are usually new banks and even though they’re FDIC insured I still wasn’t comfortable. I ended up opening an account with Discover.

I still have my ING/Capital One account, but only use it for Zelle, Venmo, and Paypal.
I now do all my checking/saving/emergency funds at Fidelity. They have 2% money market funds which are treated as cash (i.e. no need to sell before buying something or withdrawing).
Also, u can then buy things like ultra short bonds which give you better yield for very low risk. I use FLOT for 1/3 of emergency fund.

Ditto. Been with them for over a year and thrilled they have yet to lower interest rates after the recent fed movements.

The current best is around 2.5% I believe. Vio bank and probably a couple of others.
I was actually researching this bank called redneck bank lmao. 3% int on a checking account up to 10k and a savings account of 2.4%. 3% is the highest I’ve seen. But it’s red neck bank.

Agreed. I did the same. It took 3 minutes.

I've had Ally a few years and like them. I'm sure there may be others out there that may be better but Ally is the only one I'm familiar with. The rate typically fluctuates between 2-2.3%. I can easily move money between that and my "real bank". So far I have zero complaints.

You could sign up for discover if you’re eligible for the $150 or $200 promotion bonus. The rate is still competitive at 2%. Then reassess in a few months.

SOFI pays 2% on any balance.

I signed up for Discover last year. It was a combination of need (previous savings account had a 0.01% rate), and they had a $100 sign up bonus. It was convenient since I already had a CC with them. Overall, my savings account experience with Discover has been positive. I'm not attached to them by any means, but the rate is competitive.

I got the $150 signing bonus and will watch the rate. I’ll move again if it dips too much.
