Completion was filed for March 8, so assuming that’s for most of March that’s an alarmingly low number for oil and especially for gas cleaning up after a frac. We will see but I’d be leaning towards this well isn’t very good.

Yeah, even if they flowed it for two weeks that is not very encouraging. I do not see water on the monthly production, so hopefully they were still flowing back frac water for most of March 2019. Will be very interesting to see April.

I saw that Petroquest has pulled a permit for Pointe Coupee Parish.

I have looked at the Chalk a good bit, being on the subsurface side for a large independent. There is promising results and a lot more negative results. This is not going to be an explosion of activity, but should be slow steady activity for a few years until a sweet spot is determined. I suspect there will be one, but it will be small. A downturn in oil price the next 6-18 months will not help the play as economics are marginal at the moment.

I just came across this and am interested in any info I can get. I have a well known oil/gas guy that is advising me, but info from the field is always good to hear. I have property in Wakefield and signed with eog last year. Hadn’t heard much until the last month and started getting letters showing proposed units etc, just received a 2nd letter with updated map Friday and another one in the mail today. Hoping this activity is indication they are going to do something on my land

I hate to be negative here but the April production just got posted, and it made a total of ..........8 barrels for the month of April. Looks like they shut the well in. I think this well is definitely a producing dry hole. Austin Chalk play in South La is on life support.

Never understood the hype around the chalk in Louisiana. Australis Oil & Gas is teamed up with someone, definitely not Goodrich. Their VP of Drilling said they’re just playing around on the Haynesville.

Why does it feel like eog is pushing forward with stuff in Austin chalk? I have received 8 letters in the last month with another hearing over at the lasalle building later this month. Admittedly I don’t know much about this, which is rare I usually know enough about things to be dangerous. I know they had problems with the McKowen well south of me, but I thought the 1 just west was producing with 2 others to the east planned or being drilled. Open to any info I can get.

Couple of geologists over on gohayn are following it closer than most and have some good perspective. Just don’t listen to the blowhard fool s peel over there and you’ll pick up a few things on it. Kirk barrel will put his spin on anything he gives up. Eog is definitely trying a couple of different spots but they have to get more than the eagles ranch well to make it economic. Cop is struggling so far maybe they’ll have more luck Updip. This play may work in localized areas but so far has been really disappointing.

Yep saw that maybe last Friday. Also saw where the guys forming the units for the tms over in vernon pulled their application. Some mineral owners made out like bandits on lease bonuses in this deal. $1000 an acre for goat pasture.

For whatever it is worth, Equinor stated last week that they are planning to drill two wells in 2020 - I believe their position is in Vernon Parish.
