Dude, I can’t wait to go back and read this thread

I’m way late to MSTR but I’m up 24% this week and having fun with it.

Do you think it’s way too risky get quite a bit more serious with it?

If you believe in Bitcoin and Saylor’s playbook, we’re in the top of the first inning. That’s a you decision.

All depends what you think bitcoin will do. Personally, I think bitcoin will perform well over the next 6-12 months and therefore MSTR will benefit.

So here’s the deal.

I’ve got a nice bit of my signing bonus with the same firm I originally did when I was drafted. I got my first ever real job last April. That’s quite the gap between being done with baseball and starting my new career. Long story short, I’ve been very hands off with a portion of my baseball earnings and didn’t quite realize I’ve got a nice little portfolio with my original advisor.

I’ve been very heavily considering taking this money and going all in on Bitcoin, ARKB, MSTR, etc.

I want to do this. I’m mentally working through the scenario I’d be putting myself in and trying to figure out if I’m going crazy or not.

I’ve got a close friend who is all in. He used to work for Bernstein, has $320M AUM, and in the last 2 years or so has completely gone all in. I’m reading Bernstein’s “black book of crypto/bitcoin/mstr” and it’s only made me more bullish.

I’m not married and have no kids and simply think I’m ready to do this.

ETA: I called my advisor to run this past him and he doesn’t allow any of his clients to hold more than 5% in crypto/related assets. He also firmly believes it all comes crashing down at some point. At the least I don’t think our views align AT ALL here.

Your advisor is probably right - most crypto will come crashing down at some point. I don't include bitcoin in the generic "crypto" basket though. Bitcoin most definitely will have its 50% crashes over long enough horizons. You just have to sit through them.

In your situation, you are the definition of someone who can take risk. No wife and no kids, young, I'd let it ride. I do have a wife and kids and I'm around 75% net worth in bitcoin or its related equities (ETFs, MSTR, miners)

This is what I did but I do not recommend it. The swings are WILD and you need to hold with at least a 5-10 year timeframe.

Your advisor is giving you good advice. 5% is enough for most people and if you really want to live on the edge do 25%.

10 years is your hold. If you need the money in less than 5 I don't think you should do it.

How old are you? If you’re under 30 I’d let it rip. I think 5% is an allocation for a person interested in Bitcoin but more concerned with preserving wealth.

Bad move imo. Revenue has been flat for 4 years. They only make $480 MM in cash but a $40 bil Market Cap? Doesn't seem to warrant the gain.

You're asking the guy who is leveraged to the hilt and up over 1,000% how to invest responsibly?

We are all degens with a high belief that Bitcoin is here to change the world.

Read the Bitcoin Standard and then for the MSTR play, you need a basic understanding of debt markets.

I made the decision to purchase MSTU (a 2x leveraged) I'm up $2,290.50 (+37.32%) as of this post.

I also just sold a call 92 Strike call for $1210. Should it reach $92, I will make another $800.

Mr Creed is happy!

responsibly is defined differently by the person you are speaking with. I’d bet 95% of Money Talk would say my >50% net worth in Bitcoin is not responsible at all.
