Any advantage to switching to state farm home insurance?

Currently have northlight through allstate and had my car insurance through allstate as well. They were not offering a discount for the bundle. Just switched my car insurance to state farm for $30 cheaper a month, they offered to bundle my home insurance for a 15% discount on the car insurance. But the home insurance is approximately $400 more a year, so I'm seeing it as a wash and no reason to switch to state farm for monetary reasons.
My question is, does state farm offer anything above what allstate/northlight offer that I may be overlooking? I am a first time homeowner and have been in the house since September, house is about 35y/o in Hammond.

as far as i understand the only way you can use North Light is if you are an allstate auto customer, and the premium is typically very good on the homeowners if so. allstate auto can be good or bad.
State Farm can come in with some aggressive pricing if you have a good record. However they will probably go up on you in the near future and will drop you after an accident.
there probably isn't much difference in the way of coverage.

From my knowledge North Light has more flexibility with your coverages. Don't have much contents? Don't have other structures? You can lower those coverages and save premium. You also have more flexibility with you deductibles, you can do a flat 2% deductible for all perils if you'd like.
I do not have much knowledge about State Farms products in Hammond, so hopefully a State Farm guy will help you with that.

Compare apples to apple on that Northlight policy. Check the wind and hail deductible...

I was a property insurance adjuster for a third party administrator right out of college. Worked there for about 4 years and traveled around the SE during hurricanes, tornadoes or any other disaster. Got a good feel for the insurance market and what the better companies are. Given, this was about 8 years ago so some of it may have changed.
I've seen claims from Allstate where they will want you to provide every receipt for every item that you may be trying to claim during a loss. They are usually pretty strict on this. State Farm is not as strict on this and will take your word for your inventory list. I've never seen State Farm drop someone because of a claim, but they will definitely low ball the cost at the beginning and raise your rates faster than other carriers. I have enough knowledge of the homeowners policy that there's way to ensure that youre always covered for losses.
I cannot stress enough that everyone needs to have images or videos of your most important possessions in the event that something happens. You should update the video every year and keep it somewhere off your property. Put it at families house, friends', bank.... just make sure you keep it off property.
USAA is probably the best insurance carrier out there, IMO.

When you switch your HO to State Farm, you get a 35% discount on the HO ins through a bundle.
Deductibles are only offered at 1 or 2 percent, though, and to some that is a deal breaker.

State Farm hasn't dropped me in 30 years so far. Two accidents.
Of course, it helped that in neither case was I found to be at fault. If you are at fault in vehicular collisions then I can't blame anyone from pulling coverage, why would they pay for your mistakes?

They are not offering 2% around Baton Rouge. 5% is the going hurricane deductible with SF now. I'm told that is for new business and also current customers at renewal.
400,000 house = $20,000 hurricane deductible.

Be sure to factor in the hurricane deductible. Don't know what you have now, but State Farm just increased the hurricane deductibles to 5%. So, ours went from about $5000 to $15,000.

Jake from SF just jammed by rectum with a 5% deductible! but my rates didn't go up!!!

Yeah, State Farm is raising their hurricane deductibles in LA to 5% for all policies. Don't even think about switching to them.

I think your 35% number is off. More like 17%.
One thing to take into account is that with State Farm if you insure your home at what they consider to be 100% of value then they will pay up to 120% in replacement cost if there is a total loss.
