A little help with limit orders on Etrade

Look at the bid and ask prices when you are setting your limit. Those are the actual prices at which you can currently get the stock.

Bid if youre selling

Ask if youre buying

I only place limit orders and always exactly what the current bid or ask is unless it's something that's moving fast.

ETA if this might be the source of your confusion: Also the price at close on Friday is not where it opens Monday. Sadly, basic normal investing does not get that advantage of buying it in between.

I don’t think ZOM was below .42 all day. It briefly fell to .65, but it never went to .42.

Just buy it tomorrow baw us early adopter whales need the volume

so the ask for tomorrow is 0.9458. Does that mean i wont be able to buy until it reaches that?

all due respect you need some investopedia in your life.
the current ask is 0.96, if you put a limit order in at the ask it likely will fill as long as the ask doesn’t go higher

if it doesn’t immediately fill give it some time.
if it still doesn’t fill raise your limit

pennies difference don’t matter

Yeah I probably do. I’ve been doing high dividend stocks in my play money for years and never had to put much thought into it.

Trying to change that up a bit but maybe dove in head first

Just bought them at market value. They weren’t limit orders
