I agree with all your points.

It's going to be interesting to see the development of the in-the-works Chase Bank clone of a digital currency system. Some preliminary information about it has been leaked (provided).

I said early on when wiki first started his bitcoin crusade, I said some company would be the digital currency developer, not some anonymous, mysterious and unethically purposed entity.

I remember saying it would probably be a company like Google that would lead the way.

I think it's amusing that the inherent risks associated with the 3rd parties can all be reeled in using........ wait for it............ regulation of some sort.

Ironic, isn't it?

ETA: In case anyone is keeping score, btc is down to $268/btc this morning on wiki's formerly favorite btc exchange site. It's now only lost 72% of its value over the last 30 days. LINK

But that one doesn't count anymore since it doesn't support the argument.

if not participating in total fraud, why doesn't mtgox just exchange their current btc holdings for those on other networks? or would that just crash the market?

I'd say the ancaps are finally getting a real life look a completely unregulated currency market. Theft, nonsensical and varied pricing from one exchange to another. Just what we need to encourage business risk! What a utopia!

Crickets from the pro-bitcoin camp. The silence is deafening.

Just put an order for BTC @$625. Anyone in this thread that thinks the price is in the $200s is extremely dishonest

Bitcoin seeing incredible innovation. People should look to innovations, not price, to measure growth

So when bitcoin was increasing in price, it was price that proved its legitimacy. Now that its price has been crashing lately, it's NOT price but something else that is important.

Hypocrite.

Using what pricing index?

We were just using the aforementioned Mt Gox that was the beacon for the other thread about predicting the price for 2014.

In one post, you tout price, in the next you say ignore it?

Yes, my entire posting history on bitcoin has been defending it's legitimacy through pointing out the increases in price. Not once have I mentioned that the development of the bitcoin network will lead to wider adoption. Thank you for so honestly pointing out my hypocrisy.

Since you cite that thread why don't you go reread the opening post in that thread?
