0 would be the total number of points LSU's defense has given up while trailing.

In total LSU has been behind five times this year. Three of those times the offense scored to tie or take the lead in the next possession. The other two (both against Auburn) the defense held until LSU could score.

I think LSU and Clemson are the only two teams to not allow a team to score when trailing.

LSU's D has performed best in pressure situations. In total the team has given up 275 points but only 34 (12%) when behind or tied. In contrast the team has given up 112 when up by three or more scores and another 82 when up by two or more.

Is this defense elite??? Maybe not. Could they be better at closing out games? Sure. Are the effective, healthy and hungry...hell yes

Not a bad 1st post. I totally agree. In the early part of the season the D was playing good when it mattered. If they had a weakness it was letting teams back into games when they should have closed them out. Ole Miss was an outlier but it was good that it happened because now we can correct those problems (most likely already have).

Refreshing to see a post that doesn't say "can we do X?" So thank you for that. Carry on.

It's the natural outcome of an obsession with fantasy baseball and the fact I married into Louisiana culture and LSU fandom.

That said as an Ohio native with an undying hatred for OSU I want very badly to see LSU pound the ever living shite out of them if given the opportunity.

The last two games this defense has played an entire game and they look like they are peaking at the right time. Granted, they weren't playing great offenses, but the defense is playing with a chip on their shoulder. I think the committee dropping us down to number was the best thing that could have happened and the defense is out to prove that they can more than carry the weight. Stingley has 13 games under his belt now and Chassion is looking like he did before the injuries. I feel a lot better about the defense than I did a month ago.

I thought this was a thread on how many Bama players were at the Home Depot Award show last night...
